hi again, since I got my BFP I am not able to sleep. I go 2 days with like 3 hours of sleep than collapse on the 3rd day but get up at stupid hours like 5am, soooo tried but cant' fall a sleep. Do you think it's because of pregnancy hormones? I am shattered at the end of the day :(

pregnancy can definitley wreak havoc with your sleep patterns, i was mainly exhausted for trimester one then perked up until this last week where i am shattered again!

When I've looked into early symptoms insomnia does crop up hun try not to nap and also try and have at least an hour before you would like to go to sleep that you either snuggle up with a book or just lie there also from about 8pm if your phone or any other devices you use have the option it's best to put the bull light filter on as it's believed that the blue light coming from our screens can effect our sleep habits

I’m the same Hun me and 5am is a daily occurrence at the moment roll on 2nd trimester! Think I was the same with my first too it does stop eventually xx

thanks, I am at work all day so not possible to take a nap unfortunately but I will whenever I work from home or on the weekends. I find even falling a sleep at night is impossible. I have 2 weeks holidays coming up so hopefully I will get some rest than.

its awful when you are so tired you can't sleep! lots of winding down time needed for you x

yes for sure, I also already have a babybrain lol and being unable to sleep making it worse

I think it's definitely because of that. For the first 1-1.5 months after I got my BFP I couldn't stay asleep at night and would just crash on the sofa in the evening for an hour because I was exhausted. One of the joys of pregnancy unfortunately, can only look forward to the fact that it doesn't last forever. x

I've also had a lot of trouble sleeping and I'm normally an excellent sleeper. It was definitely worse at the start even taking the vivid dreams out of it. I would just find that I'd wake up for no reason. I'd just lie there and find I couldn't get back to sleep. Oddly enough, I found that if I got up and went for a wee even though I didn't feel like I needed to go and then get a snack, again I didn't feel hungry, I'd go straight back to sleep after. Although my sleep is still a bit disturbed , it isn't nearly as bad now.

I get horrible hormonal insomnia during pregnancy. I was up 1-4am last night and my youngest was up for the day at 5:20... it’s brutal!

oh yes, I was again up from 12-3am , sooo weird, I am so tried but can't sleep. It's so annoying, like you said when you have another child to look after its worse. My daughter is 4.5 years old and she woke up crying from a bad dream last night as well. So it looks like I am not going to get good sleep till my second is at least 5 years old!
