I had a transvaginal ultrasound at 9 weeks.. Picture is attached. I'm 12.5 weeks now. Someone told me that the placement of the placenta can be a fairly accurate way to determine gender. Obviously I'm not going to go buy boy or girl clothes based on answers here but thought it might be fun to get others opinions. Based on my own research, it looks like it could be a boy.

Also, my doctor is unsure if I'm carrying twins. She says she only saw one baby but that my uterus feels bigger than it should at this stage! What do you think?

Thanks everyone!

How can you tell where the placenta is? I've forgotten everything. Ha.
Have you got another scan soon?

What I've read is that if the placenta is to the left of the uterus, it's a girl and if it's to the right, it's a boy.

I have another scan in a week.. Just thought it would be fun to get opinions in the meantime :)

This is called the Ramzi theory. Unfortunately however you can't tell what is left and right from an US picture as depends what position the ultrasound probe was in when the picture was taken. I would put much more weight on the nub theory from a scan at about 12 weeks. This has always been correct for me!
