I was soooo excited about todays midwife! I wanted to here baby had stayed 3/5 engaged and everything looked good....well that wasnt the case :shakehead:

Everything was going well until it came to feeling baby. Midwife was frowning and looking rather troubled as she poked and commented on the fluid levels. THEN....came to feel babies head and she said she thinks its actually a BOTTOM!!!! This is really weird as baby does actually feel different inside since yesterday. I had some massive movements and kicks arent kicks and I have this 'thing' under my ribs which I cannot tell what it is?? Midwife really had trouble feeling him as there is just so much water. So in comes another modwife who also confirms she too cannot tell what is what becuase of the fluid  bloody swimming pool  She said it feels hard but too narrow for a head. She also said it was unusual that bay would pop out of 3/5 engaged but where I have so much water he is going to bob in and out my pelvis like no-ones business.

They are concerned about labour because baby can sommersault about all over the place and they re-iterated what to do if I get cord prolapse.

Anyway to cut a long story short, I have to go to hospital tommorrow now. There was no sonographer to scan today so tommorrow it is. If baby is actually breech they doubt they wil try and turn him because of the water as he could flip straight back and instead they will possibly go for a controlled labour. What this entails exactly I dont know...maybe just controlled induction and breaking of waters/tsunami or casearean?

I really dont mind what they do now to be honest. As long as I get my little monkey in my arms safely then nothing else matters :D

Ooo the other thing...I was saying to the midwives about how when I had my scan last week the sonographer said that I should take a leather strap to bite on in labour as my baby was big and that he is big as I eat too much she was horrified and reported her. Thign is she knew who it was before I even said.....they have obviously had dealings with her before :? They said there is trying to be funny and that which was totally innpropriate! Whoops!

oh noes!!! What a little pickle your baby is being!! Fancy going for a swim now!!!!!!!!!!!
It is good they have realised there maybe a problem and they are going to investigate tomorrow. It may be better to have the controlled labour if it means reducing your risk of a prolapse. I hope everything is ok though...it must come as a bit of a shock after baby has been very good so far!

As for the sonographer!! Glad they are reporting them, how unprofessional!

   to your midwife tillytots, she sounds like a good one and Im pleased she reported the sonographer. What she said was so inappropriate! When i had DD the second midwife i saw had the cheek to say to nme i needed a glucose test because i was so fat! i let her get away with it so im glad you didnt.

Bubs will come either way soon and as long as your both safe and sound nothing else matters hunni

FINGES CROSSED FOR YOU  for tommorow hunny
hope all goes well for you i will be thinking of you

glad the other midwifes reported her

sarah

Its sounds like my MW appointment at 40 weeks lol appart from my madame was oblique not breech. Controlled labour in my case was they would induce me with peseries and break my water with about 2 doctors present and I wouldnt leave the labour ward at any time. peseries didnt work so had c esction

Well there is good and bad news in there Tilly.

REALLY good news about them reporting that cow of a sonographer because it was totally inappropriate what she said to you last week. Silly moo

Not so good about the swimming pool and baby's position  - you get to see your baby James AGAIN tomorrow though so that's really exciting. Hopefully he'll be int he right position for you then and all will be well.

If not, I suppose they might give you an elective Caesarean? Who knows? Keep us informed anyway hun, will be thinking about you tomorrow

Anchors away   I have a spare snorkel and flippers handy

But seriously now

Sounds like your little man is having too much fun in his own personal swimming pool. Hopefully he'll right himself when the time comes to put in an appearance :D

Controlled labour would mean induction and then you would be monitored constantly. They may also break your waters and let them out gently (I did read how this is done somewhere online a while back) so as to not cause problems with the cord and so on.

thanks girls. I have made a long list of positives for every outcome so Im still smiling.

Even if I have to have a casearean which was my biggest fear :? I have been thinking I will more than likely have a date for it which means I get to avoid labour and keep my fanjita intact :cheer: :cheer:

hello

I feel as if my bub has turned, I get like a huge lump up by my ribs and I think it is the bum but feels too big, I don't get kicks anymore, can't feel knees and I am getting major what I thought were punches down in my bladder and nether regions....
I will ask tommorow, see if I have same situation as you.
There are positives, as you say not having to go through the nasty pushing and tearing along with not having the long drawn out wait.
Hope they look after you hun, they will
x

I hope the scan goes well

Yay to your midwife for reporting the evil cow sonographer

Sounds like you have a great midwife there Tilly. All the best for tomorrow's scan.

good luck for the scan - sounds like good midwives so even they will be happy to be proved wrong and have a head there :)

i was told harrison was breech at 36 weeks and a scan conffirmed he wasn't so i hope its the same for you

Good luck at the scan Tilly i hope hes still head down for you.

Good luck for tommorow. I had a section as Dafydd was breech.

Ive been laying in bed for the past hour and Im convinced he is head down as it feels too much like a bottom up near my ribs now. Oh well, we'll see what happens tommorrow :)
