What does your tummy feel like (to the touch) immediately after birth? I'm talking about in the first few hours to days, not over time. Does it go down much or is it still the same size roughly, just really soft and (argh) floppy? Haha... This just occurred to me and was never something I thought about before.

mine felt really empty lol its weird mine dint go down too much but was still weird to look at for about a week then it started doing down and felt fuller lol its hard to explain really
xx

Really funny & squidgy. I kept poking mine, it was so weird to have it all wobbling about after being huge & tight for so long. From what I can tell it gets smaller at a different rate for everyone, mine had gone down quite a lot 3 days after the birth but my sister stil looked 6 months pregnant for a couple of weeks.

I do remember laughing and my belly literally wobbling like a jelly. :D

Mine had gone down quite alot after the birth, I can't remember what it felt like

Mine was like a 28 week very saggy bump! It was very squishy and still bigish and had totally dropped.

It goes down very quickly though, my tummy is only 2 inches bigger now then when i got pregnant, its just a lot softer.

Mine when down quite alot almost straight away. It feels so weird and jelly like. I made OH feel it coz it was only a few hours before he was feeling my tight, moving belly.
I remember i got weirded out the next morning coz the day i gave birth was so surreal. During the night a MW took her into another room so i could sleep. When i woke up i had no baby near me, so felt my "bump" and it wasn't there!
My belly amused me for days, then it just felt podgy!

Yeah it's well weird! My belly button looked weird too, saggy and baggy! Thankfully though my belly button is back to normal though tummy still needs a bit of work!

Ha, I honestly couldn't tell you - I was terrified of touching mine! It looked squidgy - I just hosed it with the shower head, and avoided touching it at all costs  It went back to looking normal quite quickly though...phew...

Mine was like jelly aswell. It went down to the size it was before pregnancy straight away though :)

yep, jelly-like.

mines went down quickly too, i was on a syntocinon drip after the birth to make sure no more blood was coming out (it makes your womb contract quickly..) so i think thats why my belly went back to it's normal size within a few days.

I remember feeling my belly after Luke was out and prodding it and going "urgh, look, it's like jelly" LOL

Definitely like jelly. I felt about 5 months pregnant coming out of hospital the next day :D

Mine was jelly too. What took me by surprise though was that when breastfeeding my tummy would contract which was actually quite painful!!! :? I remember thinking that hadn't I had enough of contractions already. But then they helped the tummy to shrink again. I think the level of pain may vary from woman to woman though as I haven't heard others to talk about it too much(?). The pain started easing off after about 5 - 7 days...

My tummy was back to it's normal shape in two weeks.

Yes I got pains after whilst breastfeeding - ouch :(

Mine went stright down after i had ryan but i think its cos i had a section. it went down to the same size it was before just squidgier! I still have a tiny overhang tho    i feel like im the only one!! :( :( But if i pinch my skin above my belly button i cant get any skin but if i do it below my belly button i can pinch bits of skin lol

Hmmm  so not like a set of rock hard abs then...

Might have to have words with this baby...

Jelly-like and much bigger than I expected... when a midwife came to visit me a few hours after I gave birth I asked her "when will I stop looking pregnant?"
