Hey there people,
Owen is nearly 19 months now. I would love to get him going on a class as we love playgroup, messy plan swimming etc but havent done a paid class since he was about 7 months (we did gymboree for a few months)

Don;t wanna waste the cash but they dont look too pricey. So has anyone done any gym babies/tumble tots type thing? what did you think etc? We go to signing groups at our library and playgroup so not looking for a music but predominantly a 'gym' type one.

thanks girls :)

We took my daughter to tumble tots when she was about a year old and she hated. Was a bum shuffler and everything designed for crawlers. She didn't walk until 18 months and isn't very confident on her feet. Have just started her again at tumble tots, she's 27 months. She loves it. ReAlly active. Helping her balAnce and confidence. Great for active children too. It's expensive though As have annual membership costs plus class fee. Good though as nice to have active class for a change

thanks kbex, didnt realise you had to pay annual too, might be too much for the mo. LO is very active which is why I thought it would suit him, perhaps i need to look for something cheaper?

Not sure if it's national pricing or different areas cost different. We are in Manchester. It's £21 for the year plus £5.95 a lesson. So is really expensive.

Hi there - I'm new to this site and was having a look around and saw your post. I've got 3 kids - youngest is 2.5 now - considering a 4th (what planet am I on?!?). Tumble Tots is good from the point of view that its physical, all weather, a structured programme of classes that changes as they progress, staff that encourage the children and show you what to do and lots of equipment.... The annual membership fee is a one off joining fee with a membership pack - it doesn't tie you in for going for the whole year - the one I go to takes payments in blocks of 5 or 10 weeks. We went for a free trial - its worth investigating..... ours is £5.60 a session - the most expensive toddler activity we go to (other than soft play at peak times, which is around the same price) but my toddler loves the variety of physical activities, doing them in a group and is certainly benefiting.

Hi, just thought id post a reply as I am a Franchisee Owner for Tumble Tots in Esher, Surrey.
Not sure what area you are in Minchin but costs do vary in different areas. The membership is an insurance cover due to the nature of the equipment, climbing frames, balance beams etc. There is a one of payment which is currently £21 this covers you for the year, for this you receive a t.shirt for your LO, a cd of songs that we do in classes, a bag and parenting magazines throughout the year, it does not tie you into attending for the year. The Tumble Tots programme is progressive unlike many activities out there at the moment. We aim to offer Skills for Life to children, gaining confidence week after week, all our activities change after 2 weeks so there is always something new to try!
We offer climbing, balance, agility and coordination activities that promote all round development. Coupled with this is the social aspect for children and mums, dads, grandparents etc. We have circles times with songs and rhymes and stickers to finish the class. Many centres will offer you a trial session, some are free some are paid. There is no obligation to join up afterwards.
Tumble Tots is great fun and very active.
IF you feel like giving it a go just contact your local centre and I'm sure they will answer any questions you have.

thanks mumof three and suzie, I think we are going to have a look into it, it sounds very good and like Owen would LOVE it! he loves climbing, rolling, flinging himself around and also group singing!! I'll let you know how we go!!!
