Hi folks,

sorry if this topic has appeared on the forum before-I did a quick search and couldn't find what I was looking for.

I've has pcos for a while now-in November 2006 my periods mysteriously disappeared (I called them m.i.a). I then had one in April 2008. However in August this year they returned. Since their welcomed return I am getting a regular cycle 8)

I'm still under a specialist due to the nature of the situation. I'm due for a visit in December/January with the specialist where I am due to be given tablets of somekind (don't have much info on it at this stage) to assist with my cycle/fertility levels. In September I was put on Merformin for the diabetes I have developed  the tablets I am told will control my diabetes but also have a connection to pcos.

My question is apart from practising a healthy lifestyle and trying to remain stress-free what else do I need to be doing to help me conceive with pcos? Does anyone have any advice?

Again, sorry if this topic has been discussed to death-I'm new to all of this.

Hi Diva.
I don't know too much about this, but my sister also has pcos.
The good news is that your periods have returned! My sis went through months and months without them and even though she did keep trying to conceive, she never did. She then had one period and fell straight away, but she was on many many drugs, so again thats looking good for you. I don't think she was told anything else apart from the usual, eat heathy, exercise and BD as often as possible, but having periods again is the best news going!
Good luck

Hi again. I just googled pcos and a lot of sites I've gone on suggest a low carb diet to help you ovulate.....................

Most women with PCOS have insulin resistance. So any time you eat low carb you are helping to lower your insulin levels which in turn can make you "O"! Low carb or eating the "right" carbs is always a GREAT start for TTC with PCOS.

So maybe have a nose around and you might find a few cool ideas that have worked for others.
Good luck x
