Now that I have the time I thought I'd write my labour thread. I had in my mind that would start one when something kicked off but that didn't happen.
I was due 25th March. Given a sweep on due date were I was 2cm and consultant reckoned I would go soon and wouldn't need the next app which was to be one week later.. so I got excited.
Of course nothing happened in the days following not even a Braxtion hick. I did however notice some plug come away in bits. Weekend passed and I was convinced I'd be at my appointment come Wednesday and was feeling disappointed. .
Tuesday nite however I got home from my parents and noticed tiny bit of the show. Rang my mum to be on alert to look after my toddler. Informed the OH that I thought baby was on the way.
I went to bed that night and slept sound. Woke Wednesday got our breakfast and next thing contractions started as soon as oh was leaving for work. He went on to work but these pains were coming every 3-4mins and lasting 1min already.
My mum came for my little girl got OH home and we went to hospital and put on monitor. I was 4cm and taken down to delivery by 1pm waters broke about 2.30 contractions still on top of each other but weren't lasting as long as they wanted so they thought I'd need the drip. Thankfully MW checked me before the drip went on as I was 10cm by 4.30pm. At this stage I was on the gas and air and had injection of something. As I has previous emergency section the consultant was giving me an hr push baby out. So I pushed and pushed and baby wasn't really moving out. Went on birthing stool see what that help and baby did move a little. Consultant came back gave me another half hour which didn't do much but just give me feckin piles from the pushing. So in the end I was brought to theatre to try forceps and if that wasn't work another section.
Thankfully I had my VBAC with help of forcep delivery and epistomy.. (ouch)
Our yellow bump was a baby boy born 1st April at 19.18pm at 7lb 9oz much lighter than I expected from scans telling me baby was big.
We named him pádraig
He's doing so well . I am breastfeeding and he's thriving. His big sister dotes on him. I miss my bump and pregnancy so much and being on the tri threads. The whole experience over so fast from moment I found out I was expecting at 10dpo and now he's here
Loved being pregnant. And I hope my back someday expecting another bundle in few yrs.
Ladies good luck with the rest of ur own pregnancy journeys. I wish uz all well and hopefully see uz on the baby and toddler thread
