Hiya All,
I'm new to this forum and just after some advise and your stories :)
Me and my husband have been TTC since i stopped taking my cilest pill on 4th Jan i then had the bleed after stopping pill which lasted a few days. We've been trying more than we normally would and in Feb and last week (march) I have had short periods. I use an app which says my ovulation is this week so will be TTC most nights.
I know it's only been a few months but the waiting each time is driving my crazy lol :wall2:

I just thought i'd put a post on to see if anyone else is at the same stage as me and any help from anyone else I would appreciate all and any advise :)

Thanks in advance
Spring2017 :)

Hi Spring 2017,

I am quite similar to you in that I came off the pill in Oct last year but I have only really took an interest in TTC since Jan this year. I have been tracking cycles through a mobile app and they are quite long and I have just ordered OPKS. I want to know my ovulation more accurately.

I know the waiting each time drives me mad too, and I tried to convince myself it wouldnt lol.

The only advice I can offer is to start taking pregnacare, its full of all the vitamins and folic acid needed for those trying to conceive as well as those who are pregnant.

Good luck :-)

Thanks for the reply Loveandpeace :) Sorry i'm still getting used to the abbreviations:) I have been doing the ovulation tests and had a red line in Jan and Feb's and TTC on these times and then AF appeared :( after reading on other forums it's happened quite quickly for some people then others its taken a while.

I think I kind of my hopes up thinking it would happen straight away for me lol i don't know why though lol :wall2: I know people who have got pregnant either by accident or unplanned and I never knew until starting TTC how hard it can be and how long it may take.

I've been on the cilest pill for 11 years since I was 16, so wonder if it might take a little while longer to get back to normal because I've been on it so long. Which pill was you taking if you don't mind me asking?
It's nice to talk to someone else who is also TTC and understands the waiting each time too :) I've been taking folic acid supplements since Jan too :)

Hello
I also stopped taking the pill at the beginning of January and even though we've said were not really trying st the moment I want it all so badly x

Hi Loula,
Thanks for the reply, aww i know how you feel and I hope it happens for you soon too :)
I might sound silly but I thought after stopping the pill it would probably happen straight away, when I used to have my pill reviews they made it sound like i would get pregnant from missing a pill lol :)
I've learned so much since Jan in my head i'm thinking why didn't i stop the pill sooner cause I want a little bundle of joy so much :)

I knew it would take a while and my OH wasn't sure about me coming off the pill until June July time but I told him it wouldn't happen straight away and that we would need a head start

I am 33 and have been on the pill since I was 15, so I often think about how used my body got to it for 18 years!

It took my friend 9 months to conceive after coming off the pill. I know for others it can happen straight away, but everyone is different.

I know Spring I would panic if I missed a pill or two days in case I got pregnant! Wish I stopped sooner as well.

Hi,

I'm in the same boat I stopped taking microgynon pill then had the withdrawal blled - then nothing just waiting for periods to return. Still DTD as often as can in the hope but been doing some OPKs and were all negative so not sure if I'm ovulating or not but I might have missed it as doing the test based on the fertile window on Fertility Friend but thats based on 28 day cycle.

I can't help but wonder every time have DTD if it's 'the time' that going to happen.

trying to keep telling myself normal to take up to 12 months so just need to be patient and wait for it to happen - hoping cycle going to shorten once off the pill a bit longer.

I'm in the same place as you I think, stopped taking microgynon in December and still no sign of periods. It's hard not knowing whether I'm ovulating or not, but trying anyway in the hope that something will happen. Feel I've been lied to...that paranoia about missing a pill was all ridiculous!

Hiya,
Thanks for also messaging Loveandpeace, Summertime & Berry, it's nice to here your stories too :)
Has anyone since they stopped there pill suffered with stomach cramps and really bad bloating, I have and seem to get it at least once a week :( we've still been TTC whilst I've not felt great but just really want it too happen soon but I guess it's when our body's are ready.

Loveandpeace I know what you mean about missing a pill the doctors made is sound like it IS going to happen if you don't hehe :)

Just a question as I've read different things when your periods are back to normal within the time frame does this mean you are back to ovulating? There's so much to read up on I'm getting it wrapped round my neck hehe :)

Aww I hope it all happens soon for us all :) I have my fingers crossed me you all :) xx

Merry - are you using OPKs? I did this month but was away for a week and didn't want the hassle so Either I missed it or it didn't happen.

I know what you mean about worrying about missed pills! I got the morning after pill a couple of times when I missed one and though egg release stars straight away if miss one!

Did you have the withdrawal bleed??

As they say until AF arrived if DTD then still a chance of a BFP. Have you been doing tests? I have no idea when to test don't know when 'late'.

Spring- how long are your cycles?? I'm not sure I thought you only have menstration after ovulation but not sure, there is so much conflicting info when start googling!

It's my first full month pull free and had a lot of cramping, I'm on CD 35 now and several time thought period was coming as don't usually get cramps otherwise. This week I had one day of spotting after cramps which could be implantation bleeding but hard to know and don't know if ovulated this month!

I have fertility friend all. It think it's only accurate if have textbook cycle as lots of ppl ovulate early or late in cycle. Ovulation tests cheap on eBay I'm stocked up for after my period, if and when it arrives!

Hiya,
I stopped my pill at beginning of Jan and had the bleed after stopping the pill which lasted a few days and then we've been trying since and from then to now I've had 2 periods and the days in between them was 27 days. I've been using a app called Pink Pad to keep track of everything and that keeps track of ovulation day and that says it's today yet I've done an ovulation test today and that's saying different :(
Yer there is soooo much online I started reading things back on Dec and since I've read that many different things I can't keep track of what's what hehe :)
I had lots of cramping too the first month I stopped like period pains but lower down and since I seem to get bloated a lot but I've read side effects of cilest and that says you can get bloated, I've put on 5 pounds too :( it's all so baffling :)

I had the withdrawal bleed but nothing since then. I've taken a couple of hpts because, like you said, I don't know when I might be late - I've just taken them at weekly intervals just in case! Going to start using ops in a week or so if there's still no sign of af.

I keep having cramps, random pains and general pmt symptoms, it's all very annoying!

Hello and welcome Spring2017!

We are a bit further on in our journey - not yet successful. I thought I could share some advice. Just little things I would have done differently as like many I would have believed it was super easy for everyone to fall pregnant :wall2:

Make sure you're taking pre conception vitamins and don't forget about OH too!! Also it's important to have some 'me' time to focus on you. TTC is so much more emotionally draining than I was ever prepared for and if it doesn't happen right away it's so easy to pile huge amounts of pressure on yourself. This forum has been so good for me to talk about things and feel like I'm not alone as at one stage I really felt like I was dragging OH down with me!!

Merry - When I came off the pill (microgynon), I had a withdrawal bleed then no periods for several months. When they did come back, they were regular but very light. Went to GP as I was having other symptoms as well. They did bloods and found I had high prolactin which has now been treated and I'm now having regular proper periods and definitely ovulating. I guess what I'm trying to say is if your cycles haven't settled after a few months, it may be worth seeing the GP for peace of mind. I really just thought it was my body settling down and didn't want to make a fuss. Looking back now, I really wish I'd got it sorted sooner as we probably 'wasted' a precious 6 months NTNP when I wasn't actually ovulating. I stupidly believed that as I was having regular periods (even though they were light), I must be ovulating :wall2:

On a similar note, I wish I'd started tracking my cycles properly much sooner. I only started about 9 months ago and have been doing it much more closely for the past 3. Again, I stupidly thought everyone ovulated on day 14 and if I'd been using OPKs earlier, I may have picked up on some things. Some people say that tracking cycles can be more stressful than it's worth but in my case I think I could have picked up issues quicker. I think I've also been ovulating earlier than day 14 a lot of months so we could have been mistiming things.

Hope this is helpful.

I stopped the pill Jan 2015 ..took a year of getting to know my cycles then after xmas 2016 we started ttc..been 2 cycles actually charting and opks and nothing. Lets hope it happens soon...which we started ttc sooner too as thought it happen straight away. No such luck. I habe cut down alcohol , coffee, taking supplements but I got diagnosed with coeliac disease in Aug 2016 so hoping it doesn't effect anything !?

Hello everyone,
I've not been on here for a while had a little break as I seemed to be working myself up as TTC didn't seem to be happening. So we decided to just do ovulation tests and try on these days & have a break from planning each night when it was going to be etc...
And i have good news to share I found out 5 weeks ago just before my holiday I'm pregnant eeeeekkk I was soooo shocked and spent too much money keep checking it was true but I just wanted to let say to all that's trying keep on trying and I'm sending you fairy baby dust :o)
I've not been too well though and have a water infection that's causing crippling cramps :-( so been to drs and ended up at hospital yesterday and they have me in today for a scam to check everything's ok :o) hoping so but better to check as the pains have been so bad :o( fingers crossed :o)
But with how I am I just wanted to say keep trying all and I am sending fairy dust to you all and stay positive :o) xx

Congratulations fantastic news, hope everything ok and you recover from your UTI soon xx

Thanks for sharing this as gives me confidence if just keep trying to will happen at some point :-)

Welcome Spring2017!

Its so hard to think about anything else when you're TTC hence why I'm sat at work on here haha.

I stopped my Dianette pill beginning of March, had a long withdrawl bleed then fell into the same cycle as you. Approx 27/28 days but when I have AF its very short, like 2 days of bleeding (light) and a couple of days of light brown. I did doubt whether it was infact my AF but I believe it was as I had my first positive OPK on 12th May so I'm currently in the TWW (two week wait!) I don't feel pregnant but feel so desperate to get that BFP when I test at the weekend!

The other ladies have covered all advice really, take the vitamins, get some cheap OPKs and also I got the Clear Blue Dual Hormone Test this cycle which was brilliant, I just used the cheapo test to back up the result which it did!

Hopefully it won't be long for us all but yes the pill for so many years must really mess our bodies up :(

AND THE BLOATING!! OMG I'M THE SIZE OF A HOUSE HAHAHA
