Hey everyone!

This is my first time posting here so please bare with me  (but i have been reading a few threads for a while though :oooo:)

I have been TTC for a 3 months now. I haven't been tracking ovulation or anything yet as i'm not really sure where to start (any useful links, information or help for a complete newbie would be much appreciated) I'm just using the Flo app at the moment to document when AF occurs.

I haven't seen many posts on here about people TTC with long cycles. I came off the pill around a year and a half ago and since then my cycles have been around 34-45 days. I know it takes a while for cycles to settle after stopping the pill but i was just wondering what peoples experiences are with TTC and long cycles.

I'm trying my hardest to not symptom spot, but its just so frustrating as i have to wait so long for AF to either arrive or not show. I'm currently due AF on Thursday (according to Flo but shes not always right) I'm trying not to think about it too much but at the same time, its all i am thinking about.

I just feel a bit meh and don't really have anyone else i can talk to about this. I know i just need to be patient and wait and see, i just feel like i'm waiting forever.

Thanks everyone for reading my ramblings :oooo:

Heya K <3
Welcome to the forum!
I found that Fertility Friend has amazing information regarding tracking ovulation especially with regards to long cycles. Are you considering using BBT as a method of pin pointing when ovulation occurs?
I used BBT, tracking CM, cervical position and OPKs - I don't do that anymore because it stressed me out so much and caused quite a bit of tension in the bedroom (DH and I don't perform well under pressure lol)
You learn so much about your body when you track BBT and it really does help to confirm whether you ovulated on a particular cycle. My cycles are wack, from 32 days to 40+ - they have no set pattern and according to my gyni nothing is wrong lol soooo I know how frustrating it can be! :hugs:

FX that you will get your :bfp: really soon xxx

Hey Kat!

Thanks! <3

I shall give Fertility Friend a download and go from there! I think tracking BBT is a good first step to see what my body is up to :-) I track CM in the Flo app at the moment. I used to put my symptoms in there too but for the last few months symptom spotting has been driving me crazy so this time i'm trying to just wait it out and test a week after AF is supposedly due.

I'm glad i'm not the only one with annoying cycles  A few months ago i had a 53 day cycle and i was all over the place until AF decided to show up :-( I went though so many cheapie tests that month.

I want AF to buck up her ideas and just have a set day every month to visit me

Hi KMarie! :) I found it quite confusing at first too. I started using Flo but looking to swap - also found that it’s demands for symptoms were a bit overwhelming! I have now got Flo and Ovia running alongside each other, as Flo has all of my long term data but Ovia just looks nicer.

I have only recently started doing using ovulation tests, I haven’t really bothered with BBT. I bought the kit, but I have literally never remembered to test when I wake up. I’m just on autopilot when I first get up - I don’t really wake up until I’m out of the shower lol. I have settled for just gently introducing one thing each month, just so that I don’t get too overwhelmed with things to do.

Honestly I’m very new to this too, but the ladies on here have been absolutely wonderful so all I can say is that you are definitely in the right place!

Hey Rosie!

It's very confusing at the moment! I love how easy Flo is to use, but i feel the same about the symptoms bit. At the moment its just there to track AF so i can try and see when she's likely to appear. Ovia looks really nice, i have just downloaded it. I'l have to read up on ovulation tests a bit more. It looks like it might take a little while to time them right with my long cycles. The thermometer i was going to get comes with them so i will do both and see which one works for me. Once/if AF comes, i shall start a fresh cycle. It will be good to know what my body is up to.

I'm really glad i took the step to join the forum. I feel better talking about it already! :-) I have been thinking about it a lot and haven't really had anyone to talk to about it so its just been going round and round in my head.
