TTC after loss

Hello everyone

Just wanted to introduce myself really. Lost our baby at 15+5 on 6th May. Very recent I know but I am keen to fall pregnant again quite quickly. I know one baby will never replace another but I really want another (I have a 9 month old) and I always wanted them close together.

I have very long cycles so I dont think anything will happen until the end of June at the earliest but we shall see.

I'm on a stronger dose of folic acid now - has anyone else had that? Do you keep taking it or switch to the normal dose later on? Is it possible to take too much?

how are you these days? well my mc happened on the 19th april after being told on 1st april they baby had died and I would miscarry soon, so I miscarried on the 19th and was told af could take 6weeks to arrive.

We were told by the gp and hospital that it is recommended to wait til your 1st cycle before trying again, is that what your doing? ive done a lot of research on here and 50% of women waited til their 1st cycle and 50% just tried straight away we were going to wait til my 1st cycle but because of the waiting we just thought we would do it and if it happens it happens. cause if we waited 6 weeks that would be end of may then 2 weeks after that would be ovulation and that would be june that would be like waiting forever so we decided against it.

I also have been told to keep taking folic acid I too am on a higher dose but that is for medical reasons and I have to keep taking it all throughout the pregnancy should I fall again as most people stop taking it at 12 weeks or something. I also asked if there was such a thing as too much folic acid but I was told you cant have too much folic acid.

Ive also been thinking a lot about when to try again (Im actually still having bleeding from my mc so I may be jumping the gun a bit) but Im really anxious to TTC soon. At first I thought, oh Ill just wait until after the first cycle but when I think about it, thats another 4 week min wait until AF, then another 2 weeks until ov, then another 2 until I can test again! 2 months! So now Im thinking we may just try before the first AF and just see what happens. My midwife said to try again whenever but Ive read mixed things online. Ive also read you can be extra fertile straight after a mc so it would be a shame to waste that! Will be an interesting couple of months ahead anyway.
