TTC after baby

How long after a c section is it ok to start TTC? The docs said 2 years but I think that's a load of codswallop? Me and DH agreed on a year, but now I'm sitting here thinking I'd like to start TTC after LO is 6 months? I want my LOs close together. Are there any risks with being pregnant so soon after section?

My OH's SIL had her 2nd c section when the 1st LO was around 13 1/2 months old so concieved when he was around 4 months old. She was fine however it is recommended to wait longer as it has a higher risk of complications if pregnant again soon after a c section. But lots of people do so it's not impossible, just a bit more risky.

DH doesn't mind when we start TTC again, he's just worried how safe it is so soon after section, esp as the docs quoted 2 years. But he said if I found anything to suggest it's not so risky as the docs made it out to be, then we can start TTC

i think doctors like you to have a change for your body to get back to normal after a vaginal birth before ttc again..i would go and chat with family planning and ask what the risks are x

I was told to wait about a year before having another so that the scar has time to heal fully before being stretched!
