Hey

So me and my partner over the last couple of months decided it’s time!

I came off the pill in August (after been on it for pretty much 10 years)
So my first question is do people think this can affect how quickly you conceive?

Also any tips or hints for conceiving I know this may sound like an obvious question.

I’ve tracked my periods we’ve had sex plenty around my ovulation date but I’m
Still getting my period bang on time so no luck as of yet...

I’m desperate for a baby so my elderly nan can meet probably her last great grandchild.

Please help

I feel for you about your nan seeing her grandchild its a concern of mine also, i have already lost one nan i dont want my baby to not have either great nannys :(

Ive heard pill can change things hormonally but not sure never used it..

Id suggest start taking your temp each morning when wake up and see when your actually ovulating vs think your ovulating..

Checking cervical mucus is another good indicator

I came off the pill after being on it for 10 years, 2 years ago and am still ttc. But, I know someone who came off the pill and got pregnant 4 months later and someone else who got pregnant the first month. I think how it long it takes depends on a lot of factors so I wouldn’t worry about it too much, just try and enjoy ttc at this early stage x

From experience, I would recommend going to see your doctor, tell them your ttc and you want to make sure all your jabs (mmr etc) are up to date and to just get a general health check up. X

First time I come off the pill after 12 years I got a BFP on 2nd cycle!
This time I’ve been off pill since June, no BFP yet, my cycles are normal though x

I was worried that coming off the pill after 10 years would hinder my chances but I got pregnant on the 3rd cycle.

I recommend the Fertility Friend app and taking your temperature each morning if you aren’t already. That will give you an idea of when you ovulated each cycle.

I was on the pill for around 10 years and came off the pill in May.
I am now on my 6th cycle and still waiting for my BFP. I honestly think it just depends on the person.
Everybody is different.

Like the other ladies have said, keeping track of your temps, checking CM, etc.

Good luck, this journey isn't an easy ride. x

I had a horrible time coming off the pill but I was definitely unlucky as it was masking other issues for me that I would have known about sooner. Lots of ladies catch quickly after coming off the pill though.

How are you working out your ovulation date? That is really key. Ovulation can vary widely from cd9 to cd21.

From what I have read your age, medical history of yours and your hubby might be more important, then how long you have been taking pills.
