a lady sent a letter to a mag saying - ive had 2 m/c, husband and i are desperate for a baby. we've been trying for four months but ive been unable to conceive and my irregular periods have made me think that i may not be able to again.
the obstetrician said: not being able to conceive is distressing but 4 months is within normal time limit so dont worry. to begine with see you gp and request several tests to determine why u have not been able to conceive so far and find a cause for the m/c. blood and urine tests are useful for detecting and monitoring hormone levels as well as detecting any infections u could have thats stoppng you. stress has a neg effect on ur ability to conceive so try stay positive in this time. following m/c it is normal for periods to be irregular and it is essential to give ur mind and bogy time to recover and ur periods return to normal. having sex in middle of cycle will increase chances of conceiving and take extra folic acid to reduce risks of defects (take around 12 wks before trying ro conceive and 3 months after)
