Try To Conceive with the Help of Clomid

Hello Everyone!

Looking to see if anyone is in the same or similar boat I am in. I was on BC for a very long time (15 years) and stopped over a year ago to start trying. My cycles were regular for the first few month. after about 10 months of trying my husband and i went to see my dr to try and figure out what was going on. Labs show my progesterone levels were very low so he prescribed clomid. While waiting for my cycle, (two weeks late and many negative PT) we finally decided to call my dr again. He prescribed provera to "jump start" my cycle and it worked. I took provera for 10 days, AF came 2 days later, then started clomid on day 3 thru 7. Started ovulation testing (basel temp testing on day 4 and ovulation kit testing day 13). now on day 22 - Temp really has never changed. I got "low fertility" readings on days 13-17... finally got that flashing smiley face "high fertility" on day 18...well now day 22 and still getting the flashing smiley. Have yet to get the peak fertility symbol yet. I went to the dr yesterday (day 21) for labs and they just called and said that unfortunately I did not ovulate. So I went thru my chart with her and told her about the constant high fertility days. Guess my question is, can i just be ovulating extremely late? at first she said that we will just up the clomid and try again. but after hearing that i am still receiving high fertility (and even after switching to a new kit on day20 & still getting the same result) she is pretty confused also. she said she is going to consult some partners of hers and give me a call back. I am just a big ball of questions at this point. Can the labs be showing no ovulation bc i just have not ovulated YET? Do i continue kit testing until i get the peak? More labs once i get a peak? when do i start taking a pregnancy test? Dr doesn't want my cycle to go past 30 days...so she said start provera again at day 30, then wait for AF & do a high dose of clomid on day 3-7. which i am totally fine with. I guess i just am wondering if this cycle is just a no go

Hey, I am currently 22 weeks pregnant with my second child and I ovulated on CD 60 and got my BFP on CD 73 so I would say it’s definitely possible to ovulate later. I had day 21 bloods done which didn’t tell us much as I was still to ovulate, I had a thyroid test too and it turned out I had an under active thyroid, not sure if that caused my longer cycles. I had 40 day cycles when we conceived our DS1 too. It’s definitely possible to conceive with longer/irregular cycles, good luck.

Thank you Jacob88! I think right now my husband and I decided we are going to keep testing and do another progesterone test in a couple weeks or if I ever get a peak fertility sign.

Hi, I’ve been ttc for 5 years, I was on bc for approx. 4 years which completely messed up my cycles, I’d go years, months without having them. I’d sometimes be on for 4 days and then other times 8 and the length would vary from 28-33 etc. I had to have a hycosy exam thankfully got the all clear and was prescribed clomid in September. I didn’t get my period so bad to be prescribed a drug to kick start it! My first round in September I took from day 2-6 of my cycle 50mg, when I had my bloods the dose was too low so I didn’t ovuate. My 2nd round was upped to 100mg per day and I also decided to buy the clear blue advanced fertility monitor, October i ovulated and manages to track it with the monitor which gave me 2 peak days, I didn’t get my peak days until day 17 and I think ovulation usually happens on day 14 for most women. Clomid can make you ovulate earlier or later which is why the advance monitor is great because it requests that you do 10 ovulation tests throught the days it perceives as your fertile windows, from tracking your period. I also bought conceive plus lubricant pipettes for use on peak days (sorry to much info). I am now 5 weeks pregnant! I took pregnancy rest 2 days before my period on my monitor and got a negative, did another one day of my period as AF didnt turn up and it was positive. I’ve done 2 more since then as I couldn’t believe it! The monitors preg tests are not as sensitive as some of the others! I hope this helps! Good luck!!!

I'm not on clomid hun but all I can say is I'm a clomid baby my mum was on it and she got me and my twin sister so good luck xxxx
