Does anyone know a cot (was looking at the samsoninte pop up cots) that are lightweight and easy to take on holiday that would be suitable for a 6 month old baby. Were off to Lanzarote in February, Pudding will be 6 months then but I don't like the idea of the cot that's in the room incase other babies have been sick/poo'd etc in them - baby could catch all sorts as I'm sure they don't get properly cleaned so want to take a fold up small enough to go in the suitcase type cot....some sites say the samsonite is suitable up to 18 months, others say only untill baby can sit unaided....confusing me. Any ideas?

Oh I think I have worked it out...the cheaper one is for little babies, the more expensive "delux" one is for up to 18 months old. Here's a pic:

Cot & Travel bag it comes with:

Thanks, I have looked at the bigger ones but talk about clumpy when you have to get everything me, hubby and little one needs into two suitcases type thing, the pop up cot will literally just be for a week in Lanzarote, I shant have need for it agian after that (well he'll be too big for it next holiday I'd imagine as come around 9+ months I've read reports that they can tip them over if they roll around too much and the aged 18 months thing was rather ambitious of the company type thing). It just seems a lot to spent £45 on a cot for a week but he's not sleeping in a hotel cot other babies might have been sick in, done the toilet in, chewed the sides etc.....utterly perish that thought so the £45 becomes less of an issue I suppose.

nice to know ty for info not like were gonna go abroad but good for like travelling england still :)

id say the one u pointed out or the one in the second link which are similiar. argos do em too i think im not sure actually. what about babies r us?

I have looked on e bay and there are lots of new travel cots the same as the ones you have looked at but cheaper.

I did a search too and once you eliminate the ones that have been used it leaves fewer choices. They are priced around the £35.00 marker instead of the Samsonite £45.00 price tag but then I'd get free postage with Samsonite (or similar) and on ebay there charging like £7.50 which brings their total to £42.50 and for that small difference I'd rather buy direct and ensure I could send it back it it were faulty or broke after half a dozen uses etc. I spoke to DH about it last night who seems happy to pay the £45 given we'd have use of it both on our February holiday and then all our little weekends away we do etc so pleased he didn't say no or do the usual  once I told him the price.

There is a cheaper version on kiddicare.com! Not sure what age it is suitable for though! Thinking of getting one ourselves as it folds down very small! :D

Kiddicare do a few cheaper ones for younger babies for the 'bubble' ones up to 18 months they have one cheaper one:
