Transition to stage 2 milk

My LO is FF and will be 6 months this weekend. I've bought some stage 2 milk and wanted to know how other people made the switch. Did you just go for it, or did you do alternate feeds or even half and half in bottles? Oh, and any tips on getting LO to accept water would be greatly appreciated! X

Stage 2 milk is usually just hungrier baby milk?!? Does ir baby need it?

I only give her formula in the evening, but I went for it. Can't help you with the water part, as my little girl just smiles and laughs when I try to get her to drink water. MIL told me, however, that she drank a lot of water when she was babysitting her. I guess my little clever princess knows that I have "goodies" in my boobs still...lol!

i've had to put Elexis onto stage 2 as advised by the hv as she was feeding constantly and she told me just to make the switch straight over hun so yeah, just go for it! As for the water, not sure if just popping a small amount of juice into it to give it some flavour would work?! worth a try i guess

No advice on the milk helly, but do you give water in a beaker? T wouldn't drink water from a bottle but she likes to feed herself it in a beaker. She only gets it at mealtimes and doesn't have a substantial amount but it's more than what she would take.

By stage 2 milk I mean 6 months plus milk, not hungry baby. She has been having hungry baby milk as her last evening feed, but my understanding was 6 months + milk was actually less calorific as it encourages them to eat more solids? And yes she has water in a sippy cup but refuses to entertain it! Think I'm going to have to go down the meanie mummy route...

I just moved straight onto it, its got a lot more iron and its slower digesting to help reduce the amount of milk feeds- similar to hungry baby milk but with the added iron they need.

Max hates water so no help there! My HV told me that if they don't accept water/juice they obviously don't need it- ? Xxx

im trying alyssa on the stage 3 aptimil (the 6 month + one) as she dosent seem to like the taste of the stage 1 and only takes a tiny bit which is fine as i still bf but i just thought the extra iron would be good as she gets the bulk of her milk needs from me i just sneak in a lil extra in her brekkie and at night before sleep she has a bottle of about 4oz, last 2 nights shes taken it all so im thinking growth spurt again. anyway i just started with a carton of it today to try flavour and i have a carton of the sma stuff too to try. so far she seems to like it more than the stage 1 cos she voluntarily drank some with her breakfast. i like the taste better too lol
