Hi,

Does anyone else’s baby not seem to have a pattern to movements? I’ve been in hospital twice for monitoring over the past 2 weeks as I’m starting to get really freaked out and more anxious as my due date comes nearer. Not sure how to best figure out if the movements are reduced or increasing when there’s no real pattern to begin with!

Need to start thinking about birth and I have NCT classes tooorrow but I can’t concentrate on anything as I’m so worried I’ll miss something and something will go wrong. I’ve been off on Easter hols for 2 weeks and paranoid that when I go back to work I’ll be so busy and miss something although I feel my anxiety has been worse because I’ve been off and had more time to focus on baby! I’m working right up to May half term which is when I’m due for financial reasons but now I’m regretting that slightly!

Sorry for ranting but feel my husband gets enough of me not enjoying pregnancy that I’d put it on here instead! He’s so excited and I’m totally on edge permanently!

mine never really has much of a pattern that i can identify.....as long as you are feeling movements thats the main thing....

I haven't really got a pattern either especially if I've been busy or if I eat alot I feel the baby less. As liz said if you are feeling movement that's the main thing.

Have you tried laying on your side after having some sugar ?

Mine doesn’t have a pattern as such but I think that’s because I don’t have a routine myself, I’m active at different times of day everyday and I don’t always eat my meals at the same time each day. Baby is usually active after I’ve eaten and when I’m sat quietly though so that’s what I look out for. I think it’s really normal to get worried at this late stage about things going wrong, and you’re right to call your midwife if you’re ever concerned, they would rather you called and it was a false alarm than you keep it to yourself x

Yeah mine generally moves after food, but at other times is hasn’t, probably depends how much I’ve stuffed my face and given it no space!

My main anxious time is first thing in the morning if it’s not moved when I’ve woken up, then I hurry to eat and drink some juice...

Don’t want to wish this time away and I don’t think I’ll be much better when baby arrives as I’ll find different stresses but at the same time I can’t wait for it to be done with!!
