i thought it would be fun for us to have a thread like this so we can all write down things we have found invaluble during pregnancy/ labour and the new born phase or all three :D .

Ill start

first of all id like to recommend disposable knickers during the labour phase and after the birth. They are great coz you can just rip them off and throw them away! No extra washing either!

Another item i found invaluble was a V shaped pillow WOW everyone MUST get one. £8- from rosebys. Great during pregnancy to support bump or to get extra comfy at night then its great as a breast feeding aid to support baby and then as baby get older and learns to sit its great for supporting baby in that phase too!! its an all round good buy!

so thats my top tips!

im looking forward to tips from everyone! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

My best buy definitely was a body pillow from Dunelm. It goes the full length of the bed and is great for support. Thing is, there isn't enough room for DH in the bed with this as well so he has to sleep on the sofa!! Hmmm, that may be another plus!!! :rotfl:

mines is an after bith one, hope this is ok!!! n is also a bit strange!!!

drink lots and lots and lots(i mean lots of water!!!!) it dilutes ur wee  so it doesnt sting wen u pee!!(k ur peeing more but that helps healin process) an i promise u the more u drink the less it hurts!!!!!

Use chop sticks to eat is mine :D

Getting to the point now where leaning forward is becoming an issue so just sling it in a bowl and hone those chopstick skills. Plus you can balance the bowl on the bump :D

And no I'm not joking, I actually ate pretty much everything bar soup with chopsticks in the final trimester of expecting my daughter

:rotfl: ill end up looking like kate moss if i use chop sticks! :rotfl:

Its a good way of slowing down your weight gain although lets face it you dont need chopstciks to eat a cake now do you :D

If it means my partner will sleep on the sofa where do u get them pillows from :rotfl:

Mine is a pregnancy tip: It's so nice to see pregnant ladies looking after themselves in the way of clothes etc. My tip is to search the net for bargains but remember to Cut & Paste the picture & description on to a word document so its easier to resell them afterwards (clothes never look the same if you've taken a photo of them on your bedroon floor)
In the end the clothes only end up costing you about half the price!

My tip for when you're preggers is a birthing ball. Relieves tension on your back & helps bubs get into the right position.

Prepare meals & put them in the freezer for after the birth. Saves thinking about food.

Also buy some lavender oil & tea tree oil to put in your bath after the birth, helps heal things quicker.

oh i do like the freezing foods in the freezer! i could do lasagne and stuff like that - thanks

I have a birthing ball too. :cheer:

some great tips there, i have been thinking over the past couple of days what advice i always ive after my 1st, and i think the best bit of advice i always have was sleep as much as u can and enjoy them long sunday lies in, cos once baba is here lie in's are no more

youk now what i always tell new mums to be and i cannot believe i forgot to say in the fist post is did.

GO OUT FOR A MEAL
GO TO THE CINEMA
GO FOR A MINI BREAK IF YOU CAN
eNJOY TIME AS A COUPLE. yOU'LL NEVR GET IT BACK AGAIN!

NEXT - stretchy black maternity pants... amazing! only £20 and they wash and dry perfect... no need for ironing... the waist just keeps on stretching and they're cool (not like jeans in this heat) look nice with anything...

x

I swore by Magicool spray b4 birth and during labour, it was a god send!!

Pack snacks in your hospital bag 'cos you know OH's are gonna get hungry and just nip out b4 the vital moment :rotfl:
