Calpol says not for babys under 2 months but is that done on average weight coz max is anove average, last week he was 12lbs

Max is 6 weeks today xxx

I had a debate about this when G started teething at 7weeks. A friend who's a pharmacist in a kids hosp said I could give 2.5mls every 6-8hours. Paracetomal is a very safe drug and the use it for LOs in the hosp.

But she did say if I was gonna use it a lot to go to docs as well. The most G had was one dose in a day.

Doc at her check up said the age limit is generally to stop folk suing them, same as the prolonged use warning. Xxx

The docs at the hospital gave it to me for Aj and said to give him 2mls every 6 hours and he is only 7 weeks.

Ok thanks ladies well I was thinking of giving him some after his 10- 11pm feed as he's coughing and mucousy, thought it might help him through the night. He's so big as well I'm sure 2.5mls isn't gonna be too much? How much did your lo's weigh at 7 weeks?

Xxx

I was told only for use after jabs. Can you ring up the makers of calpol? Do they have a help line?

If you are desperate and your lo was born in your 42nd week of pregnancy it might be worth the risk. On a personal level I'd be too scared to use it x

My lo weighs 13lbs at 6 weeks x

guidelines say 2.5mls after jabs and no more than 2 doses in 24 hours, james had some the other night as he's been poorly with an awful cold and gamy eyes but again only once at night he was born at 41+5 and is now over 13lbs if you do don't give any more than a dose until 8 weeks for jabs and if he's no better consult your gp for more advice he may say its fine to use after working out the dose to his weight xx

G still doesn't weigh 12lbs and at our check a couple of weeks ago and doc said she was fine to have it. He said a lot of the warnings are because parents give it for prolonged periods or if there's something serious.

I gave G a doze at 7weeks cos she was screaming in agony. But then it was a few days before she for more.

She had a dose tonight as we took we anklet off for a bath and forgot to put it back on.
