Just been scrolling through previous posts to try and find an answer to this but still not sure....

Last night I had a really bad pain right across my belly low down and it felt really hard and painful to touch. Bean was very lively so I thought maybe it was just that, but it was kinda how I imagine a contraction to feel... :?

I felt quite sore for the rest of the evening but I was just laying on the sofa (as usual lol) when it started.

What do you think?

OH did get to feel bean kicking for the first time tho which was very cool! :cheer:

not sure if what you had was braxton hicks or not, but you do have them all the way through pregnancy. just not sure when you really start to feel them.

your OH is soooo lucky he felt your baby. we still can't feel any movement from trog from the outside, and OH is so desperate to feel them too.

:)

Hmmm...I did start feeling movements quite early as well, so maybe that was BH...

I hope so and not something sinister.....

i have been getting something similar for about a week now, i feel the baby moving and then my belly goes really hard for a few seconds, which is quite uncomfortable. Someone told me that this could be the baby turning around and that it goes hard when its back is pointing out. (not sure how true that is though!)

If you are worried ring your midwife (and then let us know!)

Yeah I have read that they are painless, but this was quite sore, very odd... well I havent experienced it again since, so I am going to ask at my scan on Friday, I feel like I am turning into a right hypochondriac!

Thanks for your thoughts anyway, I will let you know if I learn anything amazing, but expect they will say it was baby turning over or something!

It's not too early for Braxton Hicks. Some women don't get them till the end but for many, they can start in the second trimester.

I've had them since I was 15/16 weeks. I get them more frequently now I'm in my third trimester, but they are still very scattered. Some days I hardly get any and some days, I swear I get them on and off all day. They don't hurt, just like a tightening sensation and an area of my bump will go rock hard. Interestingly, I get them more if I'm stressed of have had a very active day.

You only need to worry if they become very regular or painful or are accompanied by changes in your CM and blood.
