I see no reason why people with children aged 12+ can't go to work and contribute to the economy in some way rather than rely on welfare.
The kids are in school so childcare is covered plus don't some people realise how working can enrich your life beyong earning a wage? It provides a social network for many and can be great for self-esteem.
I see it so often at work and it scares me how many people see being on welfare as some kind of viable option in life. I'm glad the benfits system is there to genuinely help those who CANNOT HELP THEMSELVES but it's out of order to treat it as a lifestyle choice and expect other people to raise your family and support you.
