Tonsilitis

I've got this for the second time in the last year and I'm such a wimp I feel wretched.

Last time the doc gave me a course of penicillin and it cleared up in no time, but t'internet reckons most doctors won't prescribe them. I was four days off my wedding thoough last time, maybe that's why

I'm scared I won't get anything. I'm off work, so not earning, and God knows you get little rest with a LO round the place. I NEED THE DRUGS!

Has anyone else experience of recurrent tonsilitis?

im always getting it, im on a stupid nhs waiting list to get mine removed but they always give me antibiotics when i get it.

I suffer from this. Can honestly say it is agony, sooo painful. Everywhere aches , you shiver and sweat and your throat just feels like broken glass every time you swallow. I empathise!! I get antibiotics every time, and I get it about 4 times per year. My doctor just gives them without any hassle but if yours is reluctant tell him you have a toddler and you can't be out of action. Hope you feel better soon!!

I've been given penecillin, but I had to lay it on thick. TBH, that wasn't hard, I look like shit!

I've been throwing up and feeling dizzy a lot, doc says that's because I've been swallwing pus Haven't felt this ill for ages, I don't know how you girls who have it a lot manage!

The throwing up is terrible when you've got tonsilitis, I get that too. Make sure you drink lots of water and cool drinks. Also take paracetamol and ibuprofen together until the antibiotics kick in. xx

Oh no! Hope you feel better soon.
I know how horrible it is, I must of had tonsillitis at least 70 times in my life I can tell now before it even start propally and the GPs just done my prescription over the phone They have never said I can have them out though!

Ive got it second time this year and its only Feb
My doctor said because Im run down and have always suffered with my tonsils I will get reoccuring problems.

So thats me on 500mg of penicillin 3 times a day

Its not nice at all

I really feel for you. A couple of years ago, I got tonsilitis about four times. It is absolute agony. You poor thing. Take it easy and hope you get better very soon. Lx
