Do you have to cook them to give them to a 6-7 month old? I know about peeling and deseeding etc but what about the flesh part? Can you use tinned ones instead?
Just wondering - all Annabel Karmel ones say fresh ones peeled and deseeded.

I cut them into quarters or half for a cherry tomato and my daugter loves them and has had them since I started weaning at 6 months. We are doing BLW so she has seeds and all. She will have a half cherry tomoto in her mouth for a while, and then suddenly spit out the skin. Not enitely sure how she manages this but its really impressive! she has also eaten tinned ones with pasta etc - I can't see any reason why not as there is no salt added to them.

I do the same with Lola :)

Harrisons a bit older but I used to cut his up into quaters and l also give him cherry tomatoes whole to chew on, he loves the insides its the best bit.

I always ate tomatoes when I was really small and didn't really know what the 'deseed, peel, cook' thing was written everywhere. They must really be the most slippery seeds in the world - you would have to work hard to choke on them :)

Thanks for your replies. Guess what LO is having tomorrow :)

I just halve them for Isaac, no peeling or de-seeding, he absolutely loves them :D

I always quatered big ones and halves the cherry ones. I never peeled and deseeded them!
