So my little boy has just gone 2, we have used sleeping bags since he was able to fit into them but I feel nows the time to change over to a duvet. He will still remain in his cot bed for the meantime.

I've been looking and most duvets I've found for cot beds are 4 tog as this is the recommended tog but this only seems a small tog in comparison to what we as adults would use.
He doesn't lay still in his cot so I'm hoping this will help but don't want him to be cold
either.

Does a 4 tog sound correct ?? What are other people's experiences ?

We use a 4 tog - their bodies are only little so anything heavier would be too much. In colder weather you also layer them up in vests and usually long sleeve pjs which keep them extra toasty.

Ds1 is a blanket kicker too so I will wait until he's asleep and go in and re-tuck him in. He'll usually keep it on overnight but if he's cold he wakes up and wakes us up too so I just go back in and re-tuck again. He is learning gradually.

Brilliant thank you for the advice, I'll get one ordered today x

It's hot enough trust me.. Blankets and pillows make them warm up.. We went caravan with our 2 year old a couple of months back and because he had to sleep in the big bed his dad build a den around him.. Now there's these fan things that let air into the caravan so at night and in the morning it's freezing.. He was absolutely boiling! Even now with jammies on some times he's too hot with even just a fleece blanket over his foot.. that is because his pillow and the duvet that I rolled up like a pool noodle to stop him falling out of bed is keeping him warm enough. If he gets in our bed even on top of the duvet he gets roasting and starts sweating..
