I would really like everyones opinion in this, Thomas goes to bed at 7 and then we dreamfeed him at anything between half ten and 12. Last night as an experiment we decided to skip the dreamfeed. He woke at four for milk then again at 6 for milk then came into bed with us till nine. On a normal day with the dream feed he normally wakes at 6 and sometimes goes back to sleep although it usually depends on how he is feeling.

So will we continue to dreamfeed or will we cut it out? Will he get used to missing this one and start to go longer?

Any opinions and advice gratefully received!!!

Dylan Doesn't do dream feeds ..he refuses to eat unless awake but it sounds like he needs that extra feed. 11 hours seems a long time for him to manage without a feed.. Dylan wakes every 3 to 5 hours on a normal night.

I would carry on dreamfeeding as he goes from the dreamfeed til 6 better than waking up at 4

I've only just stopped dreamfeeding Brody, he slept far better with a dreamfeed, I'd carry on if it means you all sleep better.

I never gave Nathan A DREAM FEED AND HE WAS DOING THE SAME, WAKING FOR A BOTTLE AT 4AM. hE GRADULLY GOT LATER AND LATER OVER A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND ITS NOW AROUND 8.30AM HE WAKES FOR NEXT FEED, SO HE SLEEPS RIGHT THROUGH. Sorry for caps! I personally couldn't be bothered with the night feed didn't mind doing the 4am feed that much and now hes used to going 12 hours with no milk.

thanks guys, think I will do it tonight as he has had his injections and the milk is giving him some comfort! I think you are right urchin, better off we all sleep well really!!

That is quite a variatoin in time, that you are giving the dreamfeed. I used to give Ellie a dreamfeed 4 hrs after her last feed (at 11:30 am). I uesd to set an alarm and go in at the same time each night. Until she dropped the 4am ish feed, I uesd to give Ellie a nappy change before the dreamfeed. Once she had dropped the 4am feed for a little while, I stopped doing the nappy change and fed Ellie in her sleep.

I'm not sure......if you all get better sleep then keep it as its best you feed him before you get settled into bed then you can get aa longer kip.

I feed L before bedtime (although she goes bed later than Teej) and she generally sleeps through (8.30pm til 6.30am atm) but as we bring the bedtime still earlier if she doesn't stay sleeping through or if she just wakes earlier cos bedtime is earlier I would def consider a dream feed.....i don't fancy getting woken up at 5.30am every morning :shakehead:

we have never dream fed willow she has her last feed at 6:30 and her next one at 5 - 6 ish am. then back to bed til 8 ish. this has worked for us.

she loves her sleep like her mummy

I say try dropping it - you might be woken up a few hours earlier for a week or so but he will soon be back to waking at 6am with out the dream feed

We only dropped Rubys 11pm dream feed a few weeks ago-she was gradually taking less and less so it was just a habit really and she hasnt woken since. The dream feed worked for us-she slept through to 7am from dream feed from 7 weeks old. I wouldnt cut it out just yet.

She now goes from around 7.30m to 7am every night :cheer:
