Normally I shave but it has become too difficult to see now...

i am very tempted to go and book in for a bikini wax tomorrow .. possibly a brazilian (eek)... but i only ever had waxing done once a few years ago... i seem to remember it not being as bad as i thought but i don't want to come up all blotchy and be itchy or anything afterwards.. even shaving this happens sometimes...

Is it ok to have waxing if you're not used to it during pregnancy?

shall i be brave or not?!!

Hooo it would b last thing on my mind pmsl I wouldn't be able get bk of table haha, I just try my best whilst in bath then stand in front of mirror

Very flattering thought I kno ha x

Ooh good luck if you do go for it! I was considering it as I seem to have become allergic to the hair removal stuff n like you say, shaving's just a joke, but I was worried that the waxing would irritate me too if the hair removal cream did. I ended up using some hair trimmers with an attachment that looks like an eyebrow comb, it's so amazing - proper lovely shave and no hurties, so relieved!

i was going to veet again in a week or so then thats me not caring lol its to much of an effort haha

Ouch!!!! Lol. I did another veet a few days ago and that's me done now.
Good luck Treeze!

i know off ladys that have gone to a spar and had like the full works! leg + bikini wax, had there hair and nails done aswell as fake tan all ready for the birth!

i think there mad tbh but i can see why you wud wax the bits just imagine if there was a hunky doctor there! he he

go for it, wats the worse that cud happen? :)

Jump up on that bed and think nice thoughts! Get waxed surely. They say it is more painful when pregnant but I think it is less painful to be honest. Once she gets started there will be no going back and it will be over in no time!

thanks girlies! loulou the hunky doc comment made me lol!

i think i'm going to go for it... eeeeeeeeek -will ring a couple of places today and see what they say...

i wouldn't normally bother with waxing but seen as though i'm really struggling to get to it now i think it will be worth it for a good few weeks of not having to worry. Esepcially for afterwards as well... I'm also not looking forward to using sanitary towels (although after my last pregnancy i was impressed how much they seem to have improved) so i think the neater it all is down there the easier it will be!!!

will let you know.. thanks girls - gonna go for it!!! I'll leave the fake tan for next week though i think - lol only joking!!!

Im sticking to blind shaving and veeting, i dont think i could handle a wax atm but im such a wimp!

I have been and got my hair done though and i will be keeping up with my fake tan and my nails and stuff - nothing stops me doing them! lol x

well... rang one of the poshest salons in town and am booked in for tomorrow morning!!!

Explained to the lady and she said we can just see how it goes... she said "did you want a normal bikini wax or a brazilian?" so i said "well maybe something between the 2?"

i said it was becoming tricky to keep it tidy now and then she said... "well, come at 9:30am and I've got 2 therapists available that can help you!" Double Whammy waxing!!!! OMG!!!

She said it might be more sensitive than when you're not pregnant and then said "but hey you're having a baby in a couple of weeks - this'll be nothing!!"

I said "the therapists are experienced aren't they?" and she laughed and said "of course they are.. all our therapists have at least 5 years experience" - phew!

She said if i don't like it and it's too painful they will just stop and let me go...! If i can get off the table that is!!!

So I've booked for an eyebrow wax too... wish i could afford a pedicure and facial too.. it's a Dermalogica salon which i luuuurve but maybe i'll reward myself next week for being brave!!!!

Oh well will let you know how it goes!!

I just shave and hope for the best! lol I only do the bare minimum anyway so I kinda just shave then feel to see if it's all gone. Plus I couldn't care less what the MW's & Docs think about how I look down there, they should be more interested in delivering my Son than looking how much or little hair is down there! lol. Mind you I can just about shave my legs in the bath now, it's bloomin hard work lol x

I love this thread. It's funny.

I used veet the other week for the first time ever and couldn't rerally see whatI was doing and ended up going a bit far in some places. I dread to think what it all looks like but I don't have a portable or low enough mirror in the whole house. As far as I can tell by feeling there are some bald bits surrounded by bits long enough to plait! I may have to have another go before the time comes. It's so soon now that I might be delaying going to the hospital i labour cos I'm busy with a bit of emergency topiary!

ah well done you for still managing... i am finding it difficult enough to lay down and then sit up again in the bath without causing a tidal wave over the edge of the bath!!! i did manage to do my legs in the shower though... i'm just not brave enough to attempt my bikini with a razor and i get really confused if i look in the mirror!! i'm not too fussed about the midwives thoughts on the subject either but i just want to get tidied up a bit and think it might be easier for afterwards...

lol catty.. your reply made me lol! I think that's exactly what has happened with me... after 9 months of trying to shave without really seeing what i dread how uneven it all is! oh well - all booked in for tomoz so will let you know how it goes!

Oh you're brave. I had a wax about 4/5 weeks ago and it was bloody painful! Was planningon having another but no way, lol. Luckily my bathroom has mirror tiles quite low down do I can just about see what I'm doing.. and Hubby helps too :D He's getting quite good at shaving and pedicures... may start renting him out! xx
