Noticed that a lot of ladies on here, me included, are having issues with constipation, so thought I would share my mum's recipe which is loads of help. Its for a fruit loaft - which my uncles - (mum's BIL's) -- refer to as LAVVY LOAF. It's also freezable - my gran keeps it sliced in her freezer so she just has to take a bit out when she needs it.
RECIPE;
4 oz All-Bran
4 oz castor sugar
10oz mixed dried fruit (or 5oz Sultanas and 5oz Raisins)
½ pint of milk
4 oz self raising flour
Put all bran , sugar and fruit in a bowl , mix well, stir in milk and leave for ½ hour
Sieve in flour and mix well
Pour in greased 2lb loaf tin
Bake for 1 hour 15 mins at gas mark 4 , 340 degrees F
Turn out to cool
PLEASE NOTE - end of mum's email says - "Enjoy,but be careful not to eat too much at once!"
Im making some just now.
