So yesterday I found out that I am pregnant with my first child. I think the news is still settling and it doesn't quite feel real yet for me or my husband. Something that is real is my tiredness apart from getting more sleep has anyone got any tips. I am primary school teacher so life isn't quiet and relaxing.

Know how you feel!! Also a primary teacher and just had 2 faint positives but have been having symptoms for nearly a week now. I’m blinking exhausted!!

I make sure I’m having a proper break at lunch time but the afternoons are still really tough :???:

I teach nursery so I'm in a similar position but shorter days thank goodness. It does get better. I was surprised how quickly the tiredness hits, you barely get a BFP before you start to need naps! It does get better though. Try to rest as. Much as you can, if friends, family or partner can cook dinner or clean let them!

I feel you! Im 6+3 weeks and been so exhausted spec this last week! Today is a good day!

I'm 13+4 and I wish I could say that I wasnt as tired as a few weeks ago but I'm really no different. Try getting to bed early and if you feel like you need a nap (and can take one) Then definitely do it!

I'm not a teacher but I work in a secondary school. I found the tiredness in the first trimester awful and really there was nothing I could do but rest when I could.

I would get in from work with every intention of getting on with something and end up napping on the sofa.

I'm just disappointed mainly because I planned on making lots of things for my baby (knitting crochet and sewing) and through the tiredness early on, being busy in the second trimester and not aches, pains and tiredness again I only managed to knit one cardigan and I've just made a quilt this afternoon. I'm planning on sewing some bits the next few weeks before she arrives but I've also bought so much so don't want to go too crazy.

Anyway; my advice would be to take it easy when you can. I know it's impossible at work but if you can get away with sitting down at any point then do. If your partner can cook meals then get them to help out (I know this can't always happen depending on their work patterns) if not then try and batch cook when you're feeling upto it so you have lots of meals in the freezer ready to go on weeknights. Get as much work done at school as you can do so you're not having to bring as much home. If you need a nap after school have one don't beat yourself up about. Grab whatever me time you can when you can. Remember you and baby come first.

The tiredness is unreal for me. I cannot function. I wake up in the morning exhausted. I'm really struggling going in to work but don't want to tell them I'm pregnant quite yet.

here here!! I am also a primary school teacher working with the little ones and my goodness I am exhausted, even more so than normal. Struggling with sore back also which bending down and crawling on the floor all the time isn't helping either. Just found out I was pregnant yesterday so still doesn't feel real yet. At what point have you all told your schools?
