Hi Ladies,

Just a quick tip, as you know most babies start holding and drinking their own bottle without help from mum at some point - Ruby really struggled with this as she wasn't strong enough (or had big enough hands) to tip her own bottle up so I invested in a few of these instead(pic below) and now she drinks her bottle on her own (along with a sippy cup) as they are much easier to grip. They are available in Tesco and are less than £3 each :)

Hope this helps someone

Hi. When did your dd start drinking it herself. My dd is ten months and I'm wondering if she should be doing it yet?

Ah yes! Struggling to get me boy to hold his milk bottle. Sippy cup he does fine. But refuses to hold bottle, it even comes with a set of handles to attach but he's not interested.
This is a great idea!.. wish MAM did something similar

MrsSmoo - My friends baby is same age as mine and she could hold her own bottle at 8 months but my LO still couldn't do it until a month ago (13 months) so I think it just depends on the child. My friends LO still isn't saying many proper words but my LO is extremely advanced for her talking but has always been a bit behind on bottle and walking. They all excel in different areas first. I wouldn't worry too much x

I love this!!! Mine won't hold the bottle, she's very capable as she does all her bottles .. Unless they contain milk lol x she sees that as our job lol

my lo has one of these, which she can hold, but still doesn't get to tip it up so that the water goes to the teat, lol. she can only drink from it herself if laid down, lol. She just mastered the art of holding a normal baby bottle with the teat clamped in her mouth and the palm of her hand on the bottom of it! lol

Awwww haha. My daughter only mastered the tipping it up properly thing in the last 2 months (she is 14 months) x
