With OPKs you aren't meant to use FMU as the hormone isn't as easily detectable first thing. I always aim for the 2nd wee of the day!

Oh dear. It doesn't say that on the pack. And in my case FMU is really the only practical one, as I don't normally get to go for a second wee till my little darlings leave me at about 2 pm!

Teacher of infants = superhuman bladder strength!

Yeah...the surge my package says that since the surge usually happens in the wee hours of the morning it hasn't had time to secrete into the urine until later in the morning. Maybe go straight to the loo when you wake up then try an opk before you leave the house.

I just used like my hundreth wee of the day (I drink loads of water!) today (cd 9) on OPK and got a faint line...I'm gonna keep checking over the course of the weekend to see if it darkens any. I'm excited bc last month I never saw anything except one really faint line one time on cycle day 20 something bc my cycles were like 40+ days... but this month hopefully the clomid has got me ovulating right on time and thus have a shorter cycle!!

BD last night. On waking find EWCM when I wipe.

Test using second urine of the day. NO LH SURGE.

WTF?

Anyone experience EWCM and no surge while using OPK?

Last month I got EWCM but didn't get a positive on the opk's despite testing everyday for 8 days.

It does depend on how much you have to drink in the two hours before you test, if thats any help??? and some womens surge only lasts 12 hours, they say that testing twice a day my help, once around 11am then again around 6 pm - expensive though!!!

You mean I could have missed my surge altogether? How annoying.

Aargh. We just monitored mucus the first time around and fell pregnant almost straight away. Maybe we should get right back to that.

I stopped using OPK's because I never got a pos. I don't think they're all that reliable to be honest I can feel when I OV because of the pains and bloating and for the last 2 mths I have been pretty spot on guessing because I have come on exactly 14 days after I guessed that I OV'd.

Oka, day 8. We plan to BD tonight before OH leaves for Colombia, he's coming back on Day 15. That's around the time I OV last month. Wondering if I should bother testing with OPKs or anything. Maybe I will just to keep my hand in.

I think I would hold off on the OPK's this month hun. I know that if I got a pos when Rob wasn't here I'd be upset. But it's upto you hun

Well, we didn't get to BD. OH was 4 HOURS late home from work, Naomi had to be kept up late to see him before he left, I was so upset and annoyed that our evening was spoiled.

I know it's only 5 days but that was MY evening dammit!

Me being huge baby. I know there are women whose OH are on oil rigs and in the army etc and I'm crying over a piddling 5 days away. I think it's because Colombia is such a dangerous place. I cried all the way home from the bus station in the car.

Still waiting to hear that he got there safely.

Anyhoo. I'm going to keep up with opks starting tomorrow. I won't be upset, I'll just have another month's data to go by. And no wondering why AF comes next month, I'll be expecting her!

aw i can completely understand how you feel, my partner works on the oilrigs and its horribe when he goes away
we caught my ovulation time this month but i know he's away for 3 weeks next month so we'l miss ovulation
i used clearblue digital and boots ovulation kits this month, i liked the clearblue one i used 2nd wee of the day and for my surge when i expected it anyway and seeing a smily face to say am due to ovulate is great lol
