Tinnitus......anyone??

Hi all
Well i went to the Docs this morning as iv had this horrid thumping in my ears for about 5/6 weeks, it woke me up when i first experienced it and i thought someone was trying to break in Then i realised it was in my head so, doc said to see if its still here in 4 weeks. Didn't really expand on why its happened, funny how it ties in with start of pregnancy though.
Just wondered if any of you girls have experienced this? Its so annoying as when i wake in the night it takes me even longer to get back to sleep, after my many toilet trips!
Anyway, the good thing was i got booked in at the docs, just got to wait for midwife to contact me, feels a little more real now

I dont sufferer personally but a lot of people in my family do. My cousin says it really helps him if he sleeps with a window open so he can still hear sounds of the outside rather just the banging in his head. He says its worse when hes in absolute silence and having the window open helps so that he hears quiet sounds like wind, birds, rain etc.
