Since the day I first felt my baby move the bottom of my stomach goes really really hard, like around my belly button...Im not worried about it or anything, just curious to find out what it is loll I keep thinking its some kind of contraction or the baby moving or anything, I have no idea loll...Does anyone else get these? If so do you know what it is? x

Really? I didnt think you could get them this early in pregnancy? It varies how long they last they can last for about 10 seconds to about a minute but when i press on my tummy it doesnt feel like the baby...x

I agree - sounds like BH

Your womb actually starts having them from as early as 8/9 weeks but because womb is so small we dont feel it, its only as womb gets bigger we feel it.

Its just preparing itself for labour.

:)

Yeah it sounds like braxton hicks.
I get this from time to time. It's like a stitch, numb feeling, and is really tight!
I didn't know what they were either so I asked the girls here and they said Braxton hicks :) xxx

Woww! Having braxtons hicks makes me feel like im soooo far along! :) Im quite happy im getting them then! :) It just makes it seem a little bit more real! :) x

They can get worse if your dehydrated too, but are totally normal. I thought you got them much later too until I started getting them!

Very true ^
I haven't had braxton hicks very much lately because I've been drinking a lot.
A few weeks ago I was having a lot of BH's and I was worried. My cousin who has 5 children said it's not normal for me to get them this early. Well, it is normal but they're very uncommon and more common nearing the end of pregnancy.

But yes, I haven't had them for a while now due to me drinking a lot! :) xxx

Is it a bad thing if you get them more? If it is i'll start drinking pints! Loll :) x

I don't think it's bad unless they become very regular and progressively more painful, just your body's way of preparing for labour and birth.

Hi sweets,

I get this thightening when LO moves too. The bottom part of my stomach goes extremely hard and sensative to touch. I never expected to be feeling BH so early but I'll put it down to that, every women/pregnancy varies. All the best.

Ive been having it for a while now though! Im 24+2 and have had them since I was about 17/18 weeks! I really didnt think you could get them that early! Well Im glad I do coz its a bit of constant reassurance...Ive not been really getting them that often anymore though :S Just all of a sudden stopped... xx

This is my third and i didnt even know we could feel it this early and i had really strong bh with both my girls! apparently it starts at 7 weeks just depends on u when u feel them..
if they go away its not a bad thing..

it can only b a prob if they are accompanied with bleeding or if they are very painful and dont wear off with rest or moving the position ur in..
xx
