Has anyone experienced thrush in pregnancy?

I was told by midwife to treat it ASAP but pharmacist don't normally give the pessary unless you have a prescription.

I got it off my doctor and before i use it just want to make sure it will not harm my baby... And if left untreated is it dangerous??

I've been experiencing thrush too, but i havent treated it as yet as i had been told not to by a couple of friends. However, i would go for medical advice over anything else as they would know... Was thinking of asking the pharmacist today actually. If i get down there, ill let you know what they say.

Yes it's really common and the treatment to Dr gives you is fine. I used it last pregnancy by Drs orders and all was good within days. It's very fast working. Xx

I had thrush loads in my first pregnancy I went to the docs the first few times but it'd part of the minor ailments we get free in pregnancy so you can go to the chemist and explain to them and get it direct rather than going to doc. They also can give you heart burn and indigestion stuff in pregnancy too.

Yeh you can treat it. Used the pessary last night...

I asked the pharmacist (good looking guy, VERY embarrassing lol) and he said i need to go to the drs for treatment to be prescribed. Will have to make an appointment tomorrow. Hope yours is starting to feel better!

I had for 6 months solid in both pregnancies, treatment didn't work for me :wall2: you can use a pessary but if it comes back you can't use it frequently as there are possible unknown effects on bump. I was told to use the pessary no more than twice to keep the risk minimal, and to treat with topical cream daily. I ended up with it on repeat and I was treating everyday for literally 6 months. Most people aren't as weird as me, and a one time treatment works. Hope yours clears up quick :)

Yeh i used pessary, no applicator. To be honest i didn't know i had it until midwife checked and told me. There was no itchiness and thought more discharge was normal
