Has anyone else had thrush while pregnant...i know its more common during pregnancy. When i was up at the hospital on monday due to bleeding they took a swab....My GP's surgery called me this afternoon to say i had a swab done and that they had a prescription for me...i couldnt get in to get it so they faxed it to my nearest chemist so i can collect tomorrow. Im guessing that thrush treatments are safe while pregnant??

** Just picked up my prescription and the box says do not use if you are pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant :wall: :wall: **

Yes, i was given both the intertal thingy and Cream - however only used the cream as was too tight down there to take the intertal one and it was really sore - the cream really cleared it up :D

Think I had it about 6 times during pregnancy and every time was brought on by sex, oh and that perenial massage thing, needless to say I didnt ask hubby to do it again after that :|

i had it literly time and time again with my daughter and i used the pessary however i didn't use the aplicator thinggy i just stuck it up there  :talkhand: if it say's not to use whilt pregnant wait till monday and phone to speak to your doctor

Hey hun yeh if it doesnt say use when pregnant id wait and fone the doc on monday or fone the chemist you got it from they should be able to give advice.

Id wait to see your doc, each time I had thrush I'd been given a prescription for it so not sure if it will be the same as the over the counter version, maybe the prescription one is slightly different especially for pregnant ladies? Use natural yoghurt in the meantime and drink lots of cranberry juice.

its totally fine to take hun. They all say that for even the external cream.

If it has been prescribed its fine.

there is no difference between the OTC ones and ones you get on prescription

Is it the pessary/internal cream and external creams?
Its only the oral capsule they dont reccomend.

If your still worried call NHS direct (be warned its a long delay for call back 3-4 hours. im qwaiting atm for help with thrush too hun so i feel for you)

Mine says not to use while pregnant aswell but as long as it is prescribed to you it is fine

I've had it quite a few times during pregnancy as well hun :wall: If they were prescribed they are safe to take. I was given pessaries and cream but cream was enough - I've kept the pessaries just in case though...
