thrush and breastfeeding

Ellouise has oral and downstairs thrush, and ive got booby thrush!
weve been prescribed 2 variations of daktarin oral gel for madam and cream for my nipples


My nipple especially the right one is excruciating!!!

Just wondered if anyone else has had this? how was it treated cud u still breastfeed?

wud it help to express off the right side just till it calms down a bit?

I had thrush and my right boob in particular hurt but it cleared up quickly with the medication. I had a small blister on my nipple so pumping was also painful but if its less painful for you I would go for it. You will probably have less pain by tomorrow even

just when i thought bf'ing was going so wll eh....


i decided to express off my left boob as its so painful when she latches n i was nearly in tears last feed and then in between i can completly smother it in cream.
expressing wasnt too bad, still painful but not half as bad as hungry ellouise!!

Definitely express if it feels better. I do feel sorry for you, its a killer isn't it? Make sure you use the cream regularly. I got mastitis afterwards and it can be caused by germs entering your nipple while having thrush , as if that isn't bad enough

I have this and it still hasn't gone! I have been using the cream for about 2 weeks. I have the oral gel for Logan and cream for me. HE is a bugger though and sucks the gel and swallows it so I don't think it is staying on his tongue!

I think that it hasn't worked for me becasue he is feedng so frequently. The pain is really bad though and sometimes I find that my nippels are itchy when I have a let down reflex....a very weird sensation!

Sorry I forgot to mention mine didn't go with cream, i had to get some oral capsules. 'd go back to the doc and tell them its getting worst, my let down got really excruciatingly painful.

cream seems to be slowly working for my nips.. and ellouise's mouth is almost clear her bum is about the same tho, but the MW said it will "go thru" or something :l and her bum will get worse before it all clears..

I had the cream and it came back after a couple of days when I thought it had cleared, it didnt go until I had the oral treatment. Its very effective and my symptoms were gone within few days

Oh no, I have a niggley feeling I have this again My right nipple is starting to be a bit painful when Leorah feeds and my let downs are getting more painful again

you should have been prescribed oral tablets to take too lozzi.
Im afraid without hat you are simply passing the infection to and from each other.
