Thoughts on Evelyn?

We are staying team yellow but I suspect this might be a girl and typically we are finding girls names really difficult.

We have a few we like Lillian, Harriet (Hattie) and Amber but I've also been thinking of Evelyn lately. She would know doubt be also known as Evie.

What's your thoughts? xxx

I love Evie and I love Evelyn! If I didn't know someone with a little girl called Evelyn it would have been on my list for girls names. Eva was our fave but we ended up with a boy so girls names were irrelevant! xx

I love Evelyn/Evie, it's top of my list, but dh is not as keen, he likes Esme. I think Ava and Eva are very popular but I don't hear Evie as much x

I love the name Evelyn! It was one of my top girls names. I probably wouldn't shorten to evie but that's just me. It's not very common but still classic xx

Initially I wasn't fussed either way on it but now I think it's really lovely! I still take a while to come round to names of people a few generations older than me, weird I know! It's classic and pretty xx

Thanks for your thoughts everyone. Just another quick question how would you pronounce Evelyn? Would you say Ever-Lin or Eve-Lin? I think I prefer Eve-Lin xxx

Evelyn was my grandmothers name. If I have girl it will definitely be baby's middle name.

I'm rather gutted it has come back into fashion recently as I've planned on using it for years and it used to be really unusual.

Love Evelyn but really not keen on Evie. I just think it ruins an otherwise beautiful name. But it's personal opinion, of course. Not a fan of 'cute' names, sorry.

I loveeeee the name Harriet (Hattie)!! I have decided that if I ever have a girl, this WILL be her name. No one can change my mind Lol! I had a book when I was young and the young girl in it was called Hattie so I think this is why I like it so much!
I know a little girl called Evie though and she is theee cutest, prettiest, most adorable child ive ever seen so I love this too! x

Just had to comment. My little girl is called Evelyn and she never gets it shortened, she's also the only Evelyn in her school. Just had another little girl called Elsa, im sure there will be loads ov those.
