Sorry about the long post...
I'm really confused right now and need to hear some opinions.
I have one son who turns 3 in February and had no problems conceiving him (5-6 months) and a normal pregnancy and delivery. Breasted until he was 2.
I guess you could say my problems started 16 weeks ago when I had a ruptured cyst and had surgery because a blood vessel ruptured with the cyst. At that point they looked over everything in there since they had already cut me open and everything looked fine. Two weeks later I got my period as usual.
I had been tracking my cycles about 6 months prior to that and they were always 26 or 28 days long. The cycle after my surgery it was suddenly only 24 days long, which is very short for me! (Before my son they were usually 32-35 days). I expressed concern to my dr. She said not to worry. The following cycle I had ewcm around the usual time, and then again 3 days before expected period. My period didn't come until about to weeks after that, making it a 37 day long cycle! That was December 19th. The weird thing is I bleed a lot less than usual, no clots, never soaked a tampon, and only bled for 2 days, then just spotting after that.
2 weeks after that I got nauseous and threw up and continued to have mild nausea after that so I thought maybe I was pregnant. On top of that my breasts were extra sensitive so I squeezed my nipples and liquid that looks like colostrum (clear orange/golden followed by more milky droplets) came out, from both nipples. I can still get colostrum out now about 5 days after that.
I should have ovulated about 4 days ago but haven't had any ewcm yet this cycle. I have taken two pregnancy tests, the latest one today and they're negative. If I was pregnant it should've shown up by now as I would be about 6 weeks pregnant (if my light period was implantation and not a period).
So.. Irregular periods, no apparent ovulation this month and lactating without being pregnant.. I'm guessing something is wrong here!
I'm on holiday and have been since dec. 20th so can't see my GP until after jan 19th. With all my weird symptoms I was obviously thinking I was pregnant, but instead it looks like it might be infertility problems? I would appreciate anyone who could shed some light on this as I'm freaking out a bit!
I've read that lactating can be caused by too much prolactin, so I'm thinking it might be that? What else can it be? Anyone here with similar experiences?
Anyone with high prolactin levels?
