Think I might be regretting the implant :(

Hey ladies so had the implant put in on 3rd of Sept ( while I was on my period) which stopped 4 days later. Started again Bout 15th and hasn't stopped. Goes heavy then light then heavy then light. It'd horrible it's almost a month I've had a period 4 does it get better? C

friend bled constantly on implant had to take pill as well so she got a break from bleeding.

I had the implant in for 2 1/2 years. I got it removed in may. I had very random periods the whole way through. Sometimes 2-3 times a month

I think you have to allow a few months for things to settle but even then you may be unfortunate and have erratic periods like me

Sorry to hear its causing you trouble Hun, i've been lucky at haven't bled at all since having it in. if i was & had been bleeding that long i think id go to the doctors, hope it stops soon for you xx

I had it in a few years back and had slight spotting when it would have normally been time for my period, once it was out my periods came back as normal. I have known people who have also had to take the pill whilst on the implant to stop bleeding.

my sis had a lot of problems with the implant lots of heavy bleeds and put on loads of weight she got it removed a few months later and the dr told her it hadnt implanted properly.i used the mirena ius for many yrs without any real problems although if i get it again it will be done under a general anesthetic.

I've been put on the pill to try regulate my periods again. It's fr 3 months. Its stressful! I have had one period free day since September!! Gr! I didn't want to take pill either :/ if it doesn't sort itself out I'm prob just going back on it though. I'm knackered and tired all the time! It draining!!

have you tried the injection?

depo provera, you get it done every 3 months.

i found it brilliant, no side effects that i noticed, and it also kept my moods under control, if it can do that with my BPD, then goodness knows what it can do for PMS!!
but it stops periods completley, and i know some women arent keen on that idea.

i was on the implant for 2 years i was always bleeding but they tried to keep it in me for an extra 6 months i said no i wanted it out they kept saying it wasnt in my system yet but for that long im sure it would of been so i had it taken out i had 2 bleeds in a month with it. its great for not having babies if u dont want any but it ruined it for me by constantly bleeding and low sex drive since ive been off the implant i used the patches start of one day say monday have it on for a week then another one on for a week for 3 weeks and then a week off for a regular bleed then back on them. hope something is sorted for u soon hun x
