Hey girls,

I'm trying not to bother a lot of my friends with pregnancy stuff but I am just SO EXCITED as I know you all are!

So I thought I would try out a thread where we can post pictures of our latest purchases for our bubbas, big or small!

Here is the first thing I ever got for our peach, and best of all it was a gift!

Not finding out the gender so everything will be neutral but I just think this is so cute!

Any other posts welcome I am so interested in all the gadgets and items you buy for baby!

Oh that's so cute!

We've actually bought the pram... it's staying in the store for another two months though. It was on such a good deal, we couldn't leave it!

We've also bought a load of clothes... I'm 99% sure I'm having a boy so have stayed neutral but there are a couple of items for either sex that I've picked up xx

Hey Wednesday,

Thanks for the reply mama! My friend who bought me it has better taste than me ;)

Oh wow - big purchase! Do you mind me asking what it looks like/where you got it?

Got any advice on where to go to buy a pram/what to look for? My initial feeling is to look online but maybe a pram is more of a type of thing you have to actually "try out" to see if it's gonna work for you?

Clothes sound adorable! I'm a bit like you - if it turns out girl or boy I'll just be sticking a pink or blue hat with a white or cream romper. Job done! LOL!

We have bought a pram as well. Pretty much have everything else from my daughter. Just been sorting out boxes of clothes and blankets today, didn't save loads of neutral clothes so will need to buy a few more.

This is my second baby, my son is 5 so don't have my pram from last time. For me, there were a few things I needed from a pram -

- folds in one piece with seat unit - my first pram didn't!
- big basket underneath - first pram didn't!
- carry cot rather than just a lay flat seat - first pram didn't!

I also wanted it to have a parasol... so I looked around the shops and saw the Silver Cross Wayfarer... big basket!! And comes with a carrycot, seat unit, car seat, rain covers, cup holder, parasol, changing bag, foot muff, pram liner... everything!

I decided I wanted it in either yellow or blue... then I searched online and found pramworld selling the package for £545 as it's being discontinued instead of £695.. so we thought we would just buy it!

That set is very cute & i love white. Although this time round i wont be buying any whites. Both my boys ruined alot of their whites with runny newborn poop which had leaked out all over (Not sure if this only happens in breastfed babies). And ofcourse sick stains. This time round im buying nothing but coloured or patternd items. I recently picked up 12 sleepsuits. Not buying anymore because my family go wild buying clothing for babies.
As for a pram i really want one of those blue silver cross from mothercare. X

Wow Wednesday,

Luuurve the pram! You say they do this in yellow? It looks perfect!

By the way, what age does the pram go up too out of interest?

Not sure if it's a bit out of our price range but it's simply perfect!

Good advice mnk - you can maybe see how naive I am being a first time mum like "Ooo all white and cream yay!"

Do you think 12 sleepsuits would do on wash/rotation or would you recommend more? And can they be worn during the day for comfort?

X

We had Cream sleepsuits and didn't have any problems lol, but I did find that people mostly bought us clothes when she was born so the neutral stuff got worn less! She also wore mostly sleepsuits for the first month. I had to go back to hospital then though so my mum had her and she ended up with loads of outfits, think my mum thought it was like having a doll lol x

My boys practically lived in sleepsuits during day & night for a few months. Unless its an occaision or we need to go out somewhere and dress up. Ide say you need about 10 sleepsuits in each size, thats if your planning to be dressing baby in mostly sleepsuits for a few months. Theyr comfortable for baby and its not a big hassle to change, where as dressing baby in a full outfit that would proberbly need changing a few times a day would be quite the hassle. X

Aww thats so cute. I also had a tonne of outfits. Unfortunatly proberbly only got worn once or twice before they had grown out of them. Babies look super adorable in outfits though i must admit. Sleepsuits are just for practicallity really.X

I've bought a cot and that's really it  we only got the cot because it had £100 off so we ordered it and my mums keeping it for now. I've only bought in the last week a vest saying I love mummy and daddy, 2 packs of nappies and 2 big boxes of extra sensitive wipes that were on a deal. I've cleared the bottom of my hall cupboard and going to stock up on wipes and nappies to do us the first while. Also got about 500 nappy sacks  my mums dragging me out tomorrow and I'm going to actually buy the baby some neutral clothes. I've been so worried to buy anything but finally feeling braver about the pregnancy now! I'll post what I buy tomorrow xx

Oh mum Gid I know! I'm looking lately at newborn things and wondering how much wear you get out of them!

Is it really only a month? Gosh x

MrsS,

Please post what you and your mum buy for bubba!

How many nappies do you think you need in the smallest size? This type of stuff always gets me confused, I'm not good at guessing quantities x

I definitely will. My mum phoned today and said she bought baby a wee neutral outfit and she'll show me tomorrow, she bought our son his 'leaving hospital outfit' and I think she's hoping this gift will be this babies outfit! She's already knit loads of gorgeous cardigans too, I'm such a sucker for them!

Hard to tell how many nappies as they all grow at different rates and move into the next size at different times. Newborns go through around 10 nappies a day so we're going to get enough first size to do a few weeks then get second size. My friend is a baby snob (everything organic etc) but she really rated Aldi nappies so we're stocking up on them. It's like 24 nappies for £1.10 so we're adding in a pack to our weekly shop. They're really well rated and I think, if baby is only wearing them for 2hrs how bad can they be  xx

I've heard EXACTLY the same thing about Aldi nappies MrsS!!! Another friend of a friend who gave birth last week said that's all she bought and they're great - think I'll do the same, just add them to the shop sounds a good idea so you're not buying everything at once and the cost hits you like a tonne of bricks! Ha

Definitely post and oh my God - home knitted carries!!! I CAN'T! NOTHING BEATS THEM!

I went to see my Grandma and hinted big league about that LOL

X

Definitely, you don't notice the cost at all. We also got a big box of extra sensitive johnsons baby wipes 12 packs for £8 so we picked that up, plus b&m stores (if you have them close by) do the extras sensitive wipes for 80p so I'm just picking the odd pack of them up when I'm in. I'm hoping to have a nice big stash of nappies and wipes when baby comes. I remember on a few occasions with my son we'd get to 10 at night and hubby or I would say 'is this the last 2 nappies we have?' Or 'do we only have a few wipes left?' And we'd have to dash out. So I'm hoping to avoid that this time as well as not notice paying anything out!

I'll add a few of the cardis my mums done. Totally in love with them! They're all teeny too but look big in the pics xx

Here's just a few of the many she's done. I think there may be plenty more to come too!!
