hi

when you have a show is it always tinged with blood or can it just be like a clear jelly when you wipe?

I have just had what I can only describe as above and also had a really bad back since 4:30 am (couldnt sleep) felt quite a bit sick and had a couple of pains, so was just wondering whether I could have just had the show (I am due at the end of the week)

Thanks

i never had a show but my friend did and she described hers as light pink jelly like. Maybe it's varies in colour from bright red to clear. A shwo can happen upto a week before. I'd keep any eye on it. Fingers crossed it is a show...

OOOh sounds hopeful, I had a show and it was just like clear jelly :puke:

Together with the pains I'd say there's a good chance you could be meeting your baby soon!

I dont know whether I am relieved that I might be meeting baby soon (though the pains I am getting now and then across my belly (they hurt a bit but not unbearable, I can deal with it atm) and feeling as though I need the loo a lot) or terrified of the thought of labour more, I am just so scared of going through it :(

so does anyone know if the show has to be bloody? I have signs now that I am at the beginning, but other bits dont add up :(

the show being clear doesnt add up, but on the other hand I have been having a aching back, woke up at 4:30am with a bad belly, having pains, really tired and my belly was hard earlier, so I dont know if I am starting or not!

Hiya kristal, I had my show which was like you have explained, and I had bubba 1day an half after so fingers crossed.

sorry how far are you ??

Labour is a terrifying thought, i know. It was painful but i dont think it was as bad as i thought it would be, i would definately do it again. Just try not to worry, go with the flow and focus on the end result!
You will be fine hun  (may seem like its easier said than done now but it will all be over soon!)

Hiya again, the show doesn't have to be bloody, some women never even get a show before labour.

Hi Urchin

Thanks for that :) I know you said earlier (I have been reading loads and 99.9% mention blood tinged shows) so I was just wondering if anyone else had also had it

Thank your info :)

does anyone know how not to panic?!

my show diddnt ome til my waters broke and mine was bloodstained

well I think I can really say I have had the show (though still not bloodstained) but just had quite a bit of what I can call green stringy mucusy jelly  (sorry)

Just a quick question, how hard would it be to go through labour on your own?

You wouldnt be on your own the MWs are a great help. They see it everyday so can guide you through and they can hold your hand. I held my MWs hand when I was pushing lol

Are you not going to have anyone there with you hun?

Hi there

I I was you I would try and get intouch with my midwife or labour unit cause I'm pretty sure the mucus plug isn't normally to be green and could be a sign of infection.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong

me and the OH havent been getting on lately, but over the last week we have been great, it has seemed like we are a couple again and actually love each other, but earlier when I told him I had had a show, he just sort of went funny on me (we did argue about something else but it only happened after I told him about show) and now we arent talking and I have really had enough of him and his attitude toward me, especially as I havent had a smooth pregnancy.

So I have told him now I dont want him with me during labour, epecially as he said he was going to do hoovering and kitchen floor and stuff but he hasnt bothered, he has just has a go at me and opened a can :(

i had a couple of days of green snot like discharge and my GP said it was due to a UTI.

I wouldnt say green green, more like a creamy colour maybe with a hint of slight green (if you know what I mean, not really green, not explaining well am I?)
I was at hospital Saturday as I had been feeling quite unwell and they had a check to see if my waters had gone (which they hadnt, wires got crossed somewhere) and they said I dont have a infection or anything but a little bit of discharge  but everything was fine.

hi I had a clear show at 1st dont think mines came away all at the one time but there was a variation of colour a few times, fingers crossed that you baby comes soon, my advise it try and turn your panic into excitement it helped me through, If its your 1st baby i would advise that u take someone with you so they can rub your back and carry you bags and run you a nice bath etc. if you dont wanna take your OH with you. Let us know how you get on XkelX

I had a show on sunday and it was like clear jelly and then when I wiped there were a few specks of blood and then over the last couple of days I have had a little bit more clear jelly on wiping. I am still waiting to go in to labour thoug

well my belly has been aching and been getting pains but nothing major so dont think I am going into labour yet.
As for the OH I have said tat its best if he goes as I am not putting up with all of it anymore and I havent decided whether I want him with me or not during labour so everything is all over the place atm including my head and feelings :(
