The Royal Family - Your thoughts?

I'm not a lover of the royal family,
The charity work is great but I'd be generous with my time with regards to charities and what not if i didn't actually have a job and the tax payer funded my holidays, homes, clothes, pets etc... My personal opinion is if they didnt get photographed they wouldn't do most of it...

I'm afraid I haven't read all three pages, but I think whatever they cost in tax is far less than you'd think. They bring in so much extra in tourism that helps our economy, and also, you *can* find out what engagements they have done, I think a report is published annually.

This thread is poluting my mind! Hubby was watching telly last night and I shouted down "what are you watching" and he said "a programme on "the royal family" and yeah........ you can imagine the horse images going through my head!!

i wouldnt call myself a 'fan' of the royal family but they do highlight some important issues.

But they shouldnt cost us money to do it!!!

But failing that i'd rather a monarchy than an american style republic, not that it matters, whoevers at the top is royally humping us all

I love them too. I think they work a lot harder than people give them credit for, and as a nation we are far too ready to knock people in the public eye (i think our tabloids are a disgrace and you don't get "news" like that anywhere else in the world).

I for one wouldn't want to live my entire life under scrutiny in the public eye, WAY too much pressure.

I love them, and one day Harry WILL fall in love with me and want to whisk me away on a yaught. I'll say no of course as i love OH, but it will still be nice to be asked
