The good news is..

..that the head is now facing down! Not engaged but its down!

I am going into hospital next Thursday at 39 weeks to have a sweep, my consultant wants to get the prostaglandins going so I have a gradual build up with some contractions to get the head down further. I would have had one on Monday too but Steve is at work and cannot take me - I might see if my community MW will do it but my consultant thinks she probably won't agree to it. Anyway, so the week after I am going to have two more sweeps! I am cautiously optimistic - I just want this head to stay put.

Baby is still growing, she says it is above average - I have got my Arnica, sea salt and lavender oil packed..

This last week has been a rollercoaster of emotions; I burst into tears today on the way to Tesco because an ambulance overtook us with its sirens going..bloody hormones are gearing up too I think!

I felt the baby turn at 4am this morning, it was doing flips in my belly, Im sure thats when it went head down! I can't believe Im going to get sweeps either! My OH's birthday is next Friday so I guess it is possible if the sweep does a good job then bubs might arrive then - can't think of a better birthday present!

No I havent used it - I was just going to post about sex, I think I prefer to do that - you don't think its too early for that yet?

I think go for it. We're past 37 weeks now and if your LO is big for dates then no harm in giving things a little push. Just asked cos you said consultant wanted to get things going gradually. I think I might jump OH tonight if Ive got the energy!

Im keen but I have developed blimmin sciatica in my left side, shooting nerve pain goes down my leg! Ouch! Im limping about like an old Alsation!

Its not like we have a massive choice of positions as it is!! Hope that goes away soon, I had that for a while and it disappeared as quick as it came, fingers crossed for you!

Thanks Evajo! I had a tear in the consultants room! Ive just been bouncing on my ball, Im hoping that it will send baby South a bit further and help my sciatica!
