I know what the police are like, but also it's far more likely that a victim has been harmed by someone who knows them (albeit accidentally) than a random paedo just happened to psychically know that the children had been left alone and opened the door to their room.
The McCanns will be charged soon, I think.
As to the diary, it's worth them having a look at everything they can get their hands on to see if they can get some evidence from it. No matter how daft it might seem.

The police have also asked for the cuddle cat.
I dont have no feelings for the parents till they are proved innocent but i know for sure that if i was in that situation but meaning my child was innocently taken not killed by me that i would not give up my childs toy.
My childrens teddy & heffa for 1st daughter and teddy and cow for 2nd means the world to them and me. I would be just as lost if my child lost one of them.
I know if i was innocent i would not hand it over. That is my last thing of my daughter.
