The whole thing is just so weird. I really am starting to think the Portuguese police are looking to tie up this case with a conviction. You would think with Portugal being in the EU things would not be like that.
My husband told me a story the other night:
One of his family members work in the police and one night this girl was waiting for her father to pick up. While waiting she got bundled into a car. Someone saw what happened and then her father came to pick her up and told him (they knew the licence plate, the make and colour of car), they called the police and as it was very near the police station they came on foot. The best method was that the policeman went with her father in the car and went around the bad areas.
They eventually found her and she was being raped. They got the attacker and the policeman then gave her father the gun and said do whatever you want and I will turn a blind eye, so then the father shot and killed the attacker and nobody was arrested nothing.
That is the kind of punishment in Argentina, now this wasn't recent but it happened in the 90's, probably the early 90's and these kind of things still happen.
You can't trust the police.
