Well Seb is now being weaned. If there is food around he absolutely refuses to take the bottle and actually threw a tant today at lunch time because he couldn't have anything! So we've started weaning! It's what's right for him. Gave him mushed up banana and.......he loved it! Wolfed it down! Massive grins all the way through! Shhhhhhhh don't tell the hv x

Aw bless him!! Are you gonna give him 1 meal a day to start off with? Or get straight into it? I was eating earlier and charley was making chewing faces while staring at me! He never makes those faces!
Emma, I gave charley a mashed banana at 12 weeks, do what you feel happy with x

Aww bless him x the pediatrician advised i start weaning at 15 weeks as Tegan keeps being really sick x

Seb's 13 weeks! He's been doing those faces too lm!!! If she shows interest then I say do it! I tried to hold off but he just won't wait!

He does tant already! Threw an almighty one at evening prayer last night because one of our friends wouldn't let him have the prayer book she was holding (he puts everything in his mouth plus the pages are delicate)! Little monkey

Lol, Cahal has proper tantrums now too, he throws his head back and roars when he doesn't get his own way lol! Weaning-wise, we've started too, he's having a solid meal in the evenings at about 5 before a final bf at 6:30 ready for bed at 7. So far he's had baby rice, mashed banana, broccoli, butternut squash, spinach and parsnips. He loves them. His absolute favourite things are rusks though - I mash them up with breast milk and he wolfs it all down with a big grin on his face bless him!

I'm doing banana this week just one meal, when we have dinner, then will introduce something new for a week etc etc
He's just downed a 7 oz bottle and put himself to sleep!

can you give them too much?
herbie was only having breakfast then supper but he still wanted loads of bottles so at dinner time today I give him some home made veg soup,
so today he has has 5x 7oz bottles, mixed berry's breakfast, veg soup, half banana and 3/4 of a 4 month baby jar then he will have his 10pm bottle now before bed.
Can I just let him eat all he wants or not any ideas anybody?

I'm not sure tbh lanny. I would assume he'd show signs he'd want to stop when full? And wouldn't accept a bottle or more food if he was full? I'm not 100% certain though x

I supose if he's fine eating and drinking that much then it should be ok. I'm gonna start slowly just so he gets used to the food.

I'm going to make some carrot and freeze it. I have some babyrice as well so might give her a tiny bit. My boobs need a bit of a rest!

I'm gonna start Freddie on some baby rice next week as he's getting interested, then going to gradually mix other stuff in with it. Going to put him in his high chair with us at the table for dinner tonight (we usually just eat on the sofa) so he gets used to that. Going to buy him his first spoons today - I'm well excited!!

Lanny, I would assume if a baby ate too much they'd be sick cos their stomachs wouldn't be able to hold it in but I have absolutely no idea if that's a right assumption to have or not!!
