I'm beginning to think my hospital is useless :? Last week I went into hospital because I was bleeding and they took a sample of the blood for testing. They confirmed that the baby was still healthy and everything looked fine. They told me to ring up the next day to get the results of the blood test. When I rang up, there was no record of the test and after a mw typing on the computer (while talking to her work mates about other things) she said "sorry there's nothing here. There's nothing I can do I'm afraid" .. so now I'm scared that my results are lost and something that is wrong will go unnoticed  I did say to her to ask the doc (I could here the dr in the background) but she just typed some more!! I should have made it clear that my sample needs to be somewhere and I wasn't moving until someone was looking it up but I was so nervous about ringing and hearing of something serious that I assumed it must have been ok but I dont think a patient should have to assume this?? What should I do? Write a letter?

When she said there's nothing here, did she actually mean they should be but they're not, or did she mean they've not come back from the lab yet? Maybe try ringing again tomorrow and see if someone else answers. I can't believe they weren't more helpful

When she said theres nothing there, she meant there was no record of a test taken and therefore no result to tell me!! The last time I was in was for my scan apparently even though I was up the night before I rang them!! Its written down in there log book and everything - silly woman :wall:

Thing is, that night the dr said "ring first thing tomorrow morning for the results" so surely its important I find out the outcome??

OMG that's disgusting! Perhaps you should ring and ask to speak to the doctor - should be more helpful than the daft woman you spoke to
