i am thinking of using the old style terry coth nappys for my LO... (can get a nice package from mothercare for £29.99)
i was wondering... how many terrys do u think i will need if say i will do a wash every other day??? also.... if i buy terrys... should they last say until my LO learns to use the potty???

I would say a new-born could go through up to 15 nappies a day, obviously it lessens as they get older :)

Terries will last and last, they'll probably do you another child if you want! We have some and use them as fallbacks when Stanley runs out of his shaped nappies.

How are you planning to cover them? I think Boots still do the old-fashioned plastic pants, but they're not great and some of the newer style PUL wraps may be better.

I'd also recommend you get some Nappy Nippas in rather than the pins unless you're very steady handed!

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have, online or via PM. There's quite a lot of us clothie mums about now who's love to help :)

Thanx for your reply... I have been advised not to use the cloth nappies for new born (well at least the 1st month) - something to do with staining them.. something in thepoo... so i planned on using disposables for the 1st month... then terrys....
The package i was going to get is from mothercare.. i think u get 6 terry cloth nappies, 6 waterproof pull ons and some other things for £29.99 then i was just going to buy some more terrys to go with this.. i think they are 9.99 for 6.... yes.. i planned on getting something other than pins to secure the nappy... i don't think i'd like using the pins......
