is anyone hiring a TENS machine from boots or anything? i'm just wondering how long u hire them for and so when i should go hire one. i'm planning a home birth with TENS, water and gas&air.

I bought one from toys r us, it was quite cheap, not much more than hiring it. I found it quite helpful, but had to have a c-section in the end, so I don't know how much use it would have been in full labour as I never got that far.

i dont know if ur midwife offers the same service but i was able to borrow one from them for a small donation (£10) they let me have it from around 38 weeks

Probably not worth bothering if you would like to use water during labour ie; sit in bath or full water birth as you have to remove it and they only really work well if you get them on very early in labour and use consistently.

My hubby got one from Boots, around 35 quid for a month's rental, was good, Id recommend it!
