I started a new job 6 weeks ago but unkonown to me I was already a few weeks pregnant and would not have been entitled to maternity pay.
The job was major stress and I was working really long hours. I was absolutely shattered all the time and felt like I was falling asleep at my desk. They also wanted to me to spend a few weeks away from home on various training courses a the other end of the country. I wasn't prepared to do that and they were not wiling to be flexible so i decided to finish up. They were very understanding and asked me back after I have the baby.
I am hoping to temp until I have the baby. Will I still be enititled to maternity allowance from the government? Does anyone know when this will start?
