So, I got my BFP a couple of days ago and am slowly getting my head around the fact that our family of 3 will be a family of 4!

I am a playworker at an after school kids club and we do holiday club too. When would you guys tell your boss in my position? I kind of want to wait til our 12 week scan but as my job is a very active one and requires moving heavy equipment (not so much during school holidays so I'm quite lucky that I wont be doing much of that for the next 5 weeks!) so I imagine a risk assessment will be required and there will be things I won't be allowed to do.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense!

I told my work at 6 weeks, work long shifts on my own if not pregnant so wasn't practical and needed to have a risk assessment done. Also was good that they knew as had bad morning sickness! Still haven't had my 12 weeks scan so would have struggled to keep it secret this long, have a noticeable bump already!

Thank you, I might wait a couple of weeks then as holiday club isn't that stressful. My 12 week scan won't be til beginning of October :( I hate this bit of pregnancy!

Is this your first? My bump didn't show til about 16-18 weeks with DS!

I'm 6+1 and I have told my boss already, partly as we have new uniform and I needed to check the maternity side and partly because he's my friend of 11 years so was nice to share.
I haven't told anyone else there though and I don't plan to until after our scan

Its my second with my first I didn't show until 22 weeks, was still in my normal jeans at 20 week scan! We have only told family other than work though. Iv just been lying low haha so no one else notices, luckily it's been raining a lot so can wear hoodies!

I am not telling my employer until after 20 week scan.
I don't want them to do a risk assessment and limit my scope of work and give me special treatment. Im healthy as can be. Also as this is a very new job, I don't want to become an inconvenience.

Unless I suddenly feel unable to do my regular day to day tasks, I'll wait.

i had to tell my manager due to the work environment too and do a risk assessment. She's down to earth though so pretty much told her around 7 weeks i think. I think our work policy says we have to inform our managers by 15weeks
